    Current A4 Special Edition Lease...Thoughts?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys/gals. New to the board, and hopefully Audi. I'm looking for some advice here. What do you think?

Saw this offer, and I think I might jump on it. I'm looking to pick something up this month, and have been looking for a few months. Came down to an S60r, A4, or G35.

This lease deal is pretty tempting...$399, 10K miles, $0 down except for taxes/title.

Went to the dealer, drove her around, and had a blast. They even had one loaded exactly how I wanted with the convenience packge, nav, and black on black. Upgrading these options and to 15K miles per year, comes out to $2,500 down and $538 a month.

What do you guys think of this?

Also, they're offering the service package for $650. Good deal? Bad deal? Worth it or not?

I think you can STEAL the B7s right now on a purchase... now is NOT the time to lease.

Definitely can do a lot better than that with a purchase. Especially a slightly used car with low miles.

X3.... the dollar isn't worth piss in this economy, so leasing is not wise when it comes to any car that is not from the U.S.!

Re: Current A4 Special Edition Lease...Thoughts?

I thought so too myself...however after doing the math...I think I'd be upside-down after three years. I'm the type that likes to change every few years, and with the features I want, the price is quite high. Even with the dealer cash and working a deal...you're about $39K OTD. Add interest and all that and I'm paying a boat load on the car.

Going used would be good, but still looking at about 27K+ with decent miles loaded how I'd like it.

The buyout on the Lease is $19K, so I think it'd be worth more than that after 3 years, and I could even buy it and resell it for a little more.

I'd be getting an amazing car for about $500 a month, be clean after 3 years, and the down payment isn't much for what leases normally ask (only $2,500). I could be totally wrong here, I'm new to leases, but seems like a good deal.

Can someone point me in a better direction for buying if I'm wrong here and I can get a better deal?

    Thanks for the replies.

    What I did:
    1) make them lower the down payment
    2) make them lower the monthly payment
    3) make them add the service package at no cost.
    4) if they don't budge on the numbers make them add all kinds of other stuff FOR FREE that they try to sell you after the fact, i.e. tire coverage, rim coverage, the gap insurance (if your regular insurance doesn't do that). there are numerous things you can ask for.

Thanks. Are you able to do this on a lease?? I know when buying cars you can work the deal, but I thought leasing was more set.

Gap insurance covers that gap between what you owe and what the cars is worth. For example, you drive off the lot and a week later total your brand new $40K car. It's only worth $35K but you owe $40K...so the gap is $5K. Dealers usually charge about $500 to $700 for Gap. If you finance a car with State Farm (yes I work for them), Gap is included for free in your loan. Otherwise unless you put down a nice downpayment or buy used (and buy well so you're not immediatly upside down), you'll want this to cover you just in case.

That's an awesome deal. Sounds unbelievable. Like literally so good it sounds unbelievable!! Where did you buy it from (name of dealer)? Was it a promotion they had or just how you worked the deal. From my research I dont think I'm able to find anything close to that.

what you really should do is act as if you're gonna buy the car and negotiate the sticker price from the start.

when you've finally gotten as far down as you can, tell the guy you want to lease it. he will then work off of that number. then begin negotiating again.

there was a promotion going on at the time but it was not that good. we just kept negotiating and ended up with this deal. That was at commonwealth audi. And also the 299 one was at mission viejo audi. That one was for my friend

I just got the same deal (minus the Navi ) 3 weeks ago at Prestige in North Miami Beach. I had them throw in the Audi Maintenance, Audi Sun Visor and for about 20 bucks less a month.

All in all it was $1200 down (inception fees + taxes + etc) which was put on the Audi Visa with no interest for 6 months and I couldnt be happier.

Sounds good. How did you get them to go $1,200 down for tax/title/etc. Is that the real amount? As in the real amount taxes should be, or did you talk them down?

The car is $38,300 and in Chicago (DuPage County) taxes are 7.65%. With title and doc fees comes out to about $2,800, but they just went with $2,500 down. Can I haggle this with them? Do I have a chance at them knocking it down?

If I went in there and said $1,200 down, free maintenance package, and $20 off the monthly...is that doable?

Re: Current A4 Special Edition Lease...Thoughts?

My cousin works for Volvo, and sent me to this guy at Audi because they worked together for Autonation back in the day. I was discussing this with him, and he decided to give the salesman a call and figure something out for me.

He dropped the downpayment from $2,500 to $1,000. So we're getting somewhere. Now if I can get them to reduce the payment $20 or throw in that maintenance package we might have a deal. What do you guys think?

My lease consisted of $1,200 down (pay for fee, taxes, title), 10k a year, 2 year lease all for $347 a month. On top of that my insurance is $172. So im under 550 just to drive the car. Didn't need heated seats since its hot here all the time, and dont need NAV if i know where im going. Wish i would've got AWD and straight drive though. Not really diggin the CVT FWD but can't complain about not feeling the gears. Going from a beefed up 450 hp 3rd gen camaro to this is like going from a Yugo to a Bently - Just a dream. haha.

My cousin talked to the salesman (his old co-worker) and the general manager yesterday, and they threw in the maintenance package too.

So now we're looking at a 2008 A4 2.0T Special Edition with upgraded miles to 15K, added convenience and navi (so fully loaded) with ipod connection. SE comes with the wheels, heated seats, and 1 year of satellite radio. $1,000 Down, $538/mo and free maintenance package. Sound like a pretty good deal now?

I guess they're not really budging on this one anymore because its the only fully loaded SE they have, and they don't know if they'll get more.

That is still a hell of alot of money for that car. I just called my dealer cuz I need ANOTHER car and he gave me similar terms on both the Q7 and almost identical terms for an A6 3.2Q. (Neither have Nav though)

Q7's are nice...if I needed another SUV I'd be all over it I think.

The convenience and NAV add $2100 each, and also this is the quattro model. Teh base special editions start at $399 @ 10K miles...so Im sure working off that I could get the payment down further. But with the 3 add ons I'm not sure sure I can get them to lower the payment. Would it be asking too much to have them lower the dp from $2500 to $1000 and throw in the convenience package...AND ask for lower monthly?

When/if I'm ready to do the deal...I may just call em' up and tell them if we could work it to like $510 a month, I'll come in and sign. They know I have been looking at a G35 so maybe I have some leverage over the phone. Figure if I go in there and sit down, they might not be hesitant to work as I'm already there, but to get me in the door again...maybe.

You can definitely do better than this if you're gonna lease. The money factor is (or at least was a few weeks ago) insanely low.

the best way to get a good deal is to email them and ask for a quote on the car and the options your looking, this way they cant see that your emotionally attached or already set on that car and will give u a better starting point then just walking in. This is what my two friends always suggest one is a finance manager, the other is a actual salesman. just my two cents.

When figuring out a lease price...are you really supposed to go in and pretend like you're buying it, set the selling price, then negotiate the lease off that? I didn't think that's how it works for some reason but seems like thats what some people are saying.

Yes you can negotiate your lease terms for sure. And 500+ is still high for that car, even with the options your getting. The matience program for a lease really does diddly squat unless your gonna buy it in the end. But myself? Nah i'll just change my oil every 5k and check out the fluids and such. Seriously, only get what you plan on using. Look out for yourself, before you look out for the dealers sake when the lease is over. The day that lease ends, is the day you get to turn your keys in and say "seeya!". haha. My mom pays $600 a month for a fully loaded Mercedes SLK350 and at the time it was priced at just under $60k on the sticker, and she gets 15k a year with free maintenance.

Sounds like a good deal, but what did she put down?

haha not a dime was put down on the benz. Just with their credit, all the parents had to do was sign paper. Yes it is a fantastic deal, being friends with the other also scores brownie points. But all in all, the car would be a $800 a month lease or higher if it weren't for the outstanding credit and owner of the dealer's help. But even my lease is a score because im a tech. on the GM side of the dealership that has VW, Audi, Porsche as well as Toyota, Nissian, Hummer, Chevrolet, and Cadillac. But definetly talk them down to the 400's. 500 is a wee bit high for a A4 in my opinion, id go to a BMW or mercedes or a model line up on Audi before i spend $500

Thanks for the update. I'm sure they got a great deal, but still putting money onto Audi Credit vs. putting money down equates to the same thing...its still money that needs to be paid, so if they put a lot down...then that changes the whole scenario. $0 down and $600 month is much > than $7K down and $600. That's why I was asking.

Thanks again to everyone. Keep the lease terms coming!! I want as much ammo as I can before I go in there and put in my final offer.

just got one of those for my mom and after 3 hours on the phone this is what I talked them down to.

3000 down (sigh and drive) so that includes 1st mounth payment and all the fees, taxes, plates.....etc. then 323/mo for 36 mos.

The car is 08 2.0tq tip SE white on black with the usual se features (wheels, s-line exterior, sport interior, power and heated seats, sirius +12 mos of service, ipod,) and convenience package.
