Depends on how much you are paying and the maintenance history. My car is a half year older than that with more miles and if I was to sell it, the new owner would be in great shape because I never missed any maintenance and did more than I needed to to keep my car in tip top shape. I have no worries of high mileage because I know what has been done in all those miles.

In short, get as much info as you can, higher mileage A4s still run strong as long as they were taken care of

According to the owner the timing belt and water pump were done at 60k and i did a carfax and it came out clean no problems...it has had two owners first one was a lease and then Toyota dealer bought it did a inspection and resold to the current owner.

All my cars have always been new never purchased a used car before so i just want to make sure.

Timing belt job is good to know and done, ask about clutch if manual, oil change frequency and type of oil, last time brake pads and if rotors were changed, and any other items that may have been repaired ie electrical components (including plugs/coilpacks). After knowing more at least you can get a gage on what may need to be fixed in the future and how well it was cared for by the previous owner. Mine is running great at 95K bought it at 47K.
