Yup, just got my S4 bumper from the scrap yard and S4 blades arrived yesterday and it'll go in for paint next week.

Ooh, S4 rear bumper? What'd the scrap yard let it go for?

How was the USP bumper install? I've got one waiting for me at the dealer... my blades are already on, though. I talked to Pfaff and they said that the front bumper install (the way they do it) involves urethane, and is thus a permanent mod.
Obviously you went another route... Likely the DIY route that is posted on the 'zine?

I liked the idea of urethane used to stick it on. Sturdy.

S4 bumper to my door with fedex $400 from Montreal. Dealer cost is over $800 in Canada. DIY route it was. I don't get what the difference is in how they do it, other than using the USP upper, then you wouldn't have to do the DIY mod. I think you should ask them if they are going to get the USP upper. Using the right upper will set you back another $500 plus labour on top of the lower you paid for the lower. I did everything plus parts for $600. Siggiepop may drop in to look at it and you are welcome too.

    Re: DIY USP front upgrade

Want to include a price breakdown of your parts?

This was Pfaff telling me how they install USP lowers to non-USP uppers... they said they use both rivets and urethane. The body shop I am going to use to get this stuff put on and painted is planning on doing the same.

    I've just bought:
    -USP lower bumper & grills
    -S4 trunk lid spoiler
    -S4 door blades

    That's it. :P

my s4 doorblades are sitting in my room =/ then later this summer paint the lowersss

    Re: DIY USP front upgrade

Hrmm... so we've got the same parts, minus the rear bumper which I didn't opt for. I think I'm happy with my A4 rear bumper anyhow.

But for the DIY install of the front, obviously not using rivets or urethane... is it held VERY tightly -- as good as the OEM setup?

I missed this part. Siggie is coming by to look at mine, you can see it too if you want. Contact Siggiepop and try to coordinate a time and day. The rivets are a good idea, I may incorporate it instead of the zip ties that the DYI recommended. I'll try it when I remove the bumper for painting.

    Re: DIY USP front upgrade

I think I might just let them do the rivets and urethane... I'm getting a great price, and the rivets + urethane definitely are going to hold it on very tightly. I'll post all about it when I get it back. It's a shop in Oshawa.
