I think you don't have a shot in hell of getting anywhere near of what you are asking. Just letting you know. Your car is extremely mint and has awesome mods, but have you looked at the book value of your car lately? Just preparing you, good luck!

26.5k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome car and all, but 26,000.....Wow. You don't see other peoples stage 3 S4 adds on this site, struggling to even sell it for 17k. To even get over 20k the car would have to have under 30-40 thousand miles. Of course you don't want to lose money. Its inevitable when it comes to the car business. The brembos help with the price, but as for the other mods, they only diminish the condition of the car, hense the reason why those mods don't add value. Yet it still seems that they do a, however only at a fraction of the total cost it was to have them installed. Good luck

Thanks for the notes... I am actually a front-line salesman for a metro VW dealership, so there is no one in the world more familiar with book values, trade-in values, MMR values, and so forth. I'm open to offers, as I mentioned, and I'm not in a rush to sell. To the right guy this car is worth the right number.

Nice looking S4...But trade for a 2001.5 is around $10k plus the mods will put it around $14k, so a "private" sale would be as others have said around $18-19k. But it's never private is it being a salesman

FYI hartmann sells them for $265 ea. in 18x8 with a 35 offset (B5 s4 fitment). So no, you would not need spacers if you buy the right set.

The wheels are four R8 fronts, and they bolt up just fine on the front of the B5 (clearance is tight, though, against the Brembos).

In the rear, I'm running a 5mm H&R spacer - they sit *just* too far in, and rub on the rear upper control arm if unspaced.

The price is on the high end, but I'm not up against a wall, and I think it's worth the money - I know you don't get everything back on mods, but the engine parts alone (much less labor to install) are at least $12,000.

$20k plus. Someone who has the money will pay up for a really clean stage 3. Kids with no money will buy up the stage 3s in the $12-18k range and most likely end up w/ garbage.

Factor in all of the costs parts and labor associated w/ going stage 3 (not to mention whatever other parts this seller has that you might be interested in...suspension, brakes, etc). Doing this will cost you well over what the seller is asking. If the car is as mint as he says it is, his asking price is reasonable. Someone w/ money that is looking for this car with these mods will pay the price he is asking. End of discussion.

Great. Go buy a mint low mileage S4 and then do all of the mods that the seller has done. Then tell us much it costs you w/ labor.

My point was that there is a right buyer for every car. And that someone with money that is looking for this car with these mods will pay mid-20s. Maybe not $26.5, but somewhere in the ballpark.

Thanks for all the comments guys... I'm asking more than some, but it is nice, and it does have a lot of work done that a lot of other cars don't (brakes, suspension, Stasis diff, etc.).

Willing to do $24,500 with the stock wheels. :)

Obviously someone that does a stage 3 upgrade doesn't baby their car. That would annihilate the point of doing the upgrade. When ppl sell a stage 3 car its usually because, they need to put some more money into it, and their sick of doing so. On the other hand, this car looks super clean and well maintained, and with it being made in '01.5 there is still some value being held in that year. Realistically, this car will not go for 24k, however, some very eager enthusiast might come along and offer you 20k. And in that case you say "yes" without any hesitation. Next year the value will drop dramatically and you'll be lucky to get 18. Thats my .02 cents, coming from some helpful opinions that the GM of the Audi Exchange in Illinois offered me himself. Sell this car within this year, or you'll be in for a surprise. I was initially looking for a S4, but got a 2.7t after he told me that. I'll wait until next year to purchase my S4, because of the simple FACT that it'll be way cheaper. Good luck 20k w/o wheels sounds good, its inevitable to lose money on cars, especially if they have been modified.

Dude, your argument makes no sense. Yes, all cars drop in value. Just b/c a car is 7 years old, doesn't mean that it can't be worth $24k. My argument still holds. Go buy a stock S4 and do all of the mods that the seller has done and it will cost you more than he is asking. Whether or not you personally can/would pay what the seller is asking does not mean that someone out there won't. Clean S4s are getting harder and harder to come by and the rate of depreciation for such a car is going to be a lot lower than other cars.

Kind of an odd response about the value... I haven't made any claims that you don't lose money you've put into mods, and of course the car is depreciating, and of course it will be worth somewhat less every year (true of all cars besides certain classis/enthusiast models, which these cars are on some small level).

All I've ever asked for is offers - if you don't think it's worth 24K, just don't buy it.
