Need some help im buying some RS6 18" 5spoke replicas. what dose the off set mean 40mm 30mm ???????

And which one is the best for 03 A6 2.7

Most of our 18x8 are ET35, 40mm may be just a little too close to the strut depending on the wheel.

Just like Doc said, a 8" wide wheel with a +40mm offset might look slightly sunken in and could possibly rub the inside strut or suspension arms.

Thanks for the help im buying RS6 replica 18"8.5 30mm offset/.
I only want to know will a 255/40/18 tire rub ?????? or should i stick with 245/40/18??
