Painted Y pipe

i tried to search for how to do this properly.. but i guess searching for "painted y pipe" classifies it as a word under 3 letters... wtf search. so i couldnt successfully search for how to do it, so i had to do it myself. it turned out pretty good all i did was use a degreaser to clean it, then sprayed a couple light coats of paint. i used duplicolor engine enamal paint with ceramic in it rated at 500F. for a rattle can job i think it came out great. now all i need is to find my missing engine cover and clean everything else under the hood. /banghead

Leave the engine covers off and show off your real bling. Bi pipe looks good. I think a aet of silver audi rings on it would look hot.

^^ i like popping the hood and having it look bone stock. the airbox engine cover is now on there to cover up the maf housing a little bit. most people wont know its a stage 3 car. =)

s4ever. have you considered buying a new coolant reservoir to make it pop again.

I'm going to do this soon. It looks really nice.

I want to consider doing glossy Nogaro Blue. Any suggestions on a Blue that would closely match? If I can't find one then I'll just do glossy black.

I painted my 85mm MAF, and bipipe with the same rona/home depot cheap brand generic enamel paint. after priming with some flat black primer.

The orange peel finish the substrandard spray nozzle makes actually suits the bipipe very nicely.

I couldn't tell you where my engine covers came from originally, they were just a bargain ebay find, thought they'd go well with my intake kit

How long does the curing usually take on the Y pipe? I think I'm going to re-do mine silver cleann it up... Can someone link me to the paint you would suggest as well, I guess duplicolor high temp I saw that on the first page just want to make sure !

I let the last coat of clear sit for a night. Then popped it on in the morning and took it for a spin. Paint has held up just fine...

I looked on AWE's website, I cannot find that accordion silicone hose. Do they not make it anymore? Works with k04 setups?
