i have searched and seen the ecode buying guide thread. But my question to you guys is... where is the best place to buy it where we get prompt shipping and no hassle? Who is the best person to buy it from? Or should i go with depo housings.

I have the 55w 6000K ds2 kit... so i wanted to get all of your thoughts and feelings on it.

I am by no means claiming that the CC mod will look better then especs, but for the price of them you get a very close look to the especs for a little bit of time, small tube of RTF, and a tiny drill bit. $700 vs $7.

Here is a quick pic of mine:

I did these to my stock ones and the damn thing was leaking so it would condense all the time... and from what i have read, the light output with the kit i am running would immaculate.

CC mod is fine but e-codes have a more aggessive low-beam cutoff.

2nd, your not paying the $700 just for the cleaner look.. but more importantly for the better low beam light output.

Are these for xenon kits, and is it a motorized lens like ours, its says its for a a4 which it will fit out but i was just wondering if the functionality is all the same just not with the ecode lens.

FYI, i was next to a car with "real" ecodes, SAME IDENTICAL output, not sure where you heard that or if you had a bad first hand experience but I can vouch that the output is awesome.

mine came from www.importvision.com .... they also came with the A4 screw driven guy in there to adjust the lights. I removed that and inserted the one from my stockers. the wiring is there for it. i then popped that scren in there and sold that with my stock. same autoleveling functionality

    Re: Ecodes

I have the Depo Ecodes. Not the Valeo Ecodes.

Light output is indeed the same. Lense quality is great. Some MINOR quality differences with the back cover clips etc, nothing thats a big deal, just some obvious cost cutting.

Otherwise 100% satisfied. And glad i didnt drop 700-800$ on the valeos.

So the ones you got are they DEPO? and u have to swap out the adjustment and autoleveling from out stock housings? Also are they for xenon or halogen, and finally have you had any moisture issues? Does it come with city light wiring?

    Re: Ecodes

I haven't had any issues with condensation. Some people go the extra 9 inches and re seal it with silicon. You can if it'll make you sleep easier =]. You don't HAVE to swap out the auto-levelers, I just liked that feature. They are for halogen, H7, which I found out the hard way, I then had to buy an aftermarket VVME kit, which has been awesome for 6 months maybe more I forget. However, you can modify the clip area to get the D2S in there. Maybe BastardS4 can help you, or if you search you may find the thread, or if you still haven't done it after I shower I will find the thread lol

oh also, yes prewired for the city lights exactly like the "real" ones come. Just have to splice off the wiring for the blinker I believe just as you do for the real ecodes. here's the thread from mark p on AW who details how to do it

I've had mine for over 6-8 Months, I just can't remember when I got them, I love them. No problems with the blinker melting (housing) as some have mentioned with the real ecodes, no problems with the lens and my aftermarket H7 HID kit. I may even go 55W soon for shits and giggles

i actually went ahead and bought the same ones that auditech bought and for the same price. I hope these things work out. Does anyone know where i can find a write up to put in my 55w 6000K ds2 bulbs (retro solutions kit) into these headlights, these are for halogen bulbs but i was told by others that u can put in the ds2 bulbs

    Re: Ecodes

Dam I should get a job for them... lol,

    SVier,
1.Yes, D2S is xenon type bulb and H7 is one of the many types of halogen sizes
2.The ballast isn't D2S, but the bulb is
3.The OEM ballasts will not fit unless you modify the underneath area of the light. It is too big. Other people have done it though and it worked out great. I'm going to pull up the threads right now where you can modify the clip slightly to get the D2S in there, I didn't know this when I did mine and I bought an aftermarket HID kit that has been AWESOME. 55 Dollar kit from VVME and the light is insane.

there is no doubt that they are DEPOs... . I have had these lights for 7-8 months and have had no issues and I didn't even re-seal it with anything. Some people are bugouts and they seal it once again with silicon. But then again if you add up a tube of silicon and these lights you can buy 2 maybe 3 sets of these before 1 set of "real" ones if that makes you feel better, not YOU, but ya know what i mean

    SVier,
1.Yes, D2S is xenon type bulb and H7 is one of the many types of halogen sizes
2.The ballast isn't D2S, but the bulb is
3.The OEM ballasts will not fit unless you modify the underneath area of the light. It is too big. Other people have done it though and it worked out great. I'm going to pull up the threads right now where you can modify the clip slightly to get the D2S in there, I didn't know this when I did mine and I bought an aftermarket HID kit that has been AWESOME. 55 Dollar kit from VVME and the light is insane.
If you could find a write up that would be sweet. I have had no luck finding a write up to get the ds2 kit into the depo housings.
