Vagcom Connection 1996 A4 1.8t ??

just got a vagcom lead off ebay but it wont fit my car ? my car is a 1996 1.8t
any ideas ?

I thought 96-97 had both OBDII ports. The one under dash and the one in the rear center console? That being said, I also have been told that the rear doesn't always work. Like my 01 has it, but its not hooked up to anything.

is there another port under the dash? my vagcom cable off ebay is coming any day now and my port is also in the center console so im guessing i may have a problem connecting it too.

I know my car has both. I think all NA cars do. The rear one is useless though I believe. I have heard that the very early year B5's could still use the rear. The rear one in my car has the plug but no harness going to it. Lazy audi, they could have put in another cigarette lighter.

i have a 97 1.8t and only have one under the dash no port in the rear console.. should there be 2? hahaha

Its usually next to the ashtray under a cover piece.

i know that, theres a place stamped out for it but no plug its just an empty hole haha either way b5 goes to the dealer and i get to beat on a 08 loaner for a bit stupid tip trans
