got a hair over 1k miles on my car, and i've noticed a sound coming from what i assume is the transmission. on the first shift from first to second of any drive, i'll hear either a muffled gear-griding sound or some type of thunk. only happens the first time, and it does seem to delay the shift. i'm smart with my car - i let it warm up before i go past about 2k rpm. after that first one, it's fine...shifts like butter. yesterday, i heard a slightly different clunk from the front left corner, almost from the front left suspension assembly. i was on flat pavement. anyone ever experience anything like this? haven't taken it in to the stealership yet, i was planning on waiting till the 5k service and have them drain the tranny fluid (if they don't do it anyway) to check for shavings.
