i'm totally confused now, you would have to shave your calipers and put spacers on the car to make 18 inch BBS LM replicas fit?...any input on this, if you have to do this then im not going to get them

No, but you do have to run a very small spacer, as with many aftermarket wheels.

so a 5mm spacer would do the job? who's got the cheapest spacers..i wasnt making this into a whole project..damn!

I checked out those VMR reps pete, if they came out with a gunmetal look then i'd be down to get them and they would look ridiculous on ibis white. i really want the LM's, but i may have to lean toward a ck or ch bbs.

I got 20mm in the rear 15mm in the front and 20 bolts and paid 200 bucks, but thats because the 20mm spacers were like 95 a pair.

Re: you have to shave your oem calipers to fit BBS LM reps???

I would go with the 5mms from Ichiba.

Here is the link I purchased from. I ran these on my Subaru for years and I currently have them on my avant as well.

    http://www.optionsauto.com/prodinfo....r=ICH-AU-50505

You will also need to purchase the extended studs as well, which you can find here.

    http://www.optionsauto.com/prodinfo....=ICH-ST-145301

You will need a total of 10 for the front.

Your total is $55 bucks, and they ship super fast.

hubcentric starts at 8mm (for H&Rs). 5mm usually don't have it lip but will expose enough of the cars hub to hold on to the wheel.

*just fyi note...H&R 8mm have both non-hubcentric and hubcentric models. that's why they list 2 8mm parts.

My BBS CO's were 44 offset and I had to shave my calipers a bit to clear. I ended up running that for a while and then switch to 10mm spacers (hub-centric) from H&R.

thanks alot LAS, i'll probably go with 5mm. right now i'm unsure about the LM's because of all this, but if i decide to go with them then i'm getting the 5mm's. if i just use spacers though will it be fine?

Wow, those are very inexpensive. Most of us go with H&R ($10 more for the 5mm pair) since they are guaranteed by hundreds of us, and we have also seen cheaper brands crack and fail right away. I have no experience with the Ichiba brand though.

Also, this is an Audi not a Subaru. We use lug bolts instead of studs/lug nuts, so he will need to purchase extended lug bolts with 5mm (or whatever width he buys) spacers. OEM lug bolt size is 14x1.5x28mm, so he will need a set of 14x1.5x33 lug bolts, or 1-2mm longer if they don't have the exact size.

Thirdly, your LM replicas will require conical seat lug bolts. Any decent manufacturer should include new lug bolts with your purchase, but remember you are buying spacers... so those 10 extended lug bolts you are buying need to be conical seat, not ball seat like your oem bolts.

This is true. Having a small spacer that is not hubcentric won't cause any problems though, as long as you know how to install wheels correctly. They won't vibrate or shake as long as you center it on there and torque your bolts correctly.

Dude, just cut some cardboard boxes and use 'em as spacers to push your wheels out a little bit.

Reason I was asking if that I'm having this put on in the next week or so. I'll have them use some mounting adhesive in addition to the tape. Thanks

Re: you have to shave your oem calipers to fit BBS LM reps???

I don't know who sells the cheapest bolts.

But you can get the lug bolts you need at a place like ECS Tuning for example. H&R bolts (in 14x1.5x35mm, 2mm longer than what you need but that is fine) are $2.95/bolt.

ECS makes their own bolts that are only $2.49/bolt, but are backordered until June 17th.

Re: you have to shave your oem calipers to fit BBS LM reps???

i think im going to go with h and r spacers and h and r bolts

so the spacers are goin to run me like 120
the bolts are running me around 78
    red/gold bbs center caps 70
    rims plus tires 1500 probably

why couldnt it just be simple haha

just a thought: if i went 19's for the bbs LM reps, how would they look on the oem sport suspension. i know they would clear the front calipers too so i wouldnt need spacers and all this
