Are there any free mods that can be done on a 2.7t? I just did a search and couldn't really find anything. Just wondering.

Me, maybe. I could eat healthier I suppose. Car, well I bought an Audi cause I want all the creature comforts. Removing ANYTHING for the sake of more power seems pointless to me. I would have just gotten a WRX if I wanted to do that.

You can do the tip recode if you have a tip tranny, use a vagcom, takes 5 minutes. It'll hold 1st gear and shift "sportier".
You can also use vag to roll down/up your windows (open/close sunrgoof too) with your remote.
if you're a good mechanic and/or into DIY, you can make yourselves some piggy pipes.

for real power, spend $600 on a chip like APR

Car is a 6 speed, I just could not buy an auto with this car. I drive auto all day with my van, needed to get myself back into a manual car. I would love to do a chip, but I have to do the timing belt first. It hasn't been done and is way overdue. I still don't know what piggies are exactly. I asked before but didn't get a clear answer.

gut your stock DPs, move the O2 sensor bungs pass the precats and you get piggies instead of spending $1600 on APR DPs.
They add TP and TQ, but also reduce heat build up behings the turbos, hence increasing reliability

    Re: Free Mods?

If you can spend $20 on a VAG cable off ebay. You can download 409.1 for free and do some minor tweaks. make the windows roll up and down with the remote, doors lock when you start driving, little things like that. Much more info about this on audiworld

You could do a set of springs pretty inexpensively....do a DAR intake mod (search) or a K&N filter.
Any pics of your car so we can give suggestions?

Well those aren't free mods, but:
    planning on tint already
I already bought wheels from someone on this board - 18's
I would like to lower it a little, not much
Engine detail, well I'll wait till after I do the timing belt. I do not like the look of the badgeless grill at all. I actually like the look of the stock grill.

    Re: Free Mods?

Most of the "free" mods are the vag mods. You could Debadge the car if you havn't also you could do a resonator delete yourself for sound inhancement.... maybe even sell the resonators and make some money.

    Re: Free Mods?

Hey I havent done my corners yet but there is a post on the forum. Doesnt sound that difficult. One says to take out headlights the other drilled top and plugged back with silicone. I plan on trying a long pair of kelly clamps to see if I can break the yellow part and then shop vac it...

Is there a couple pics of this I am relatively new to the audi scene. So just trying to plan when my warranty expires next year.

    Re: Free Mods?

I wouldn't do the dar intake... if you get any type of oil leak, you will be buying 5 MAF before years end. Also it really didn't help that much. Gl with your 'free' mod :P

EHHHHHHHH I have a APR stage1-2+ laying around with the ECU as well I could sell you.. but that isn't free :D

    Re: Free Mods?

Like I've said in other threads, you can just use a small hook pick to break the amber lens free and then cut it in to small pieces to go through the hole.
