got the wheels back today...they look AWFUL

I sent this email to the guy's partner (the only guy who's email i have) :


Well, I went to pick up the wheels today (at 4 o'clock! talk about late!!) and they look like absolute shit!...He said that he didnt know that i wanted him to touch up/ repair all the things i pointed out to him today, and made up some stories about why they would cost more. He is going to touch up the wheels this week at no charge, but I'm not going to be satisfied until these wheels are looking brand new because thats what i was promised.

here is a list of the problems with my wheels

1. Didn't thoroughly clean wheels before painting/clearcoating

2. Many chips and knicks in the face of the wheels (he admitted he NEVER TOUCHED THEM and said that he didnt know that i wanted him to touch that up)

3. Bolt holes are all gouged/scratched and he did not touch this area

4. WORDS are IMPRINTED on the lips of my wheels...i'm guessing from the tire mounter/tires

5. Imperfections on lip of wheel that he said would easily come out with polish, he is now saying that's a fungus caused from salt and he would have to charge a lot more to get that out.

6. Curbing repair that is left black (not painted)

7. Wheels were returned to me with white residue from dripping clear coat all over them, and he didn't cover the last tire he did before he cleared and white residue (that is NOT coming off) covers this tire.

Overall, I am unhappy. I'm normally not like this, but his repair job was abysmal. I would NOT have payed the $300 + $100 for tire if I would have known how they would've come out. He said he would be able to get all of the imperfections/curbing/paint chipping out and make the wheels look good. These wheels look many things, good is not one of them.

If your offer still stands to speak with him, please let me know. I think I should either get a partial refund or he should do all it takes to get the "fungus" out and make these wheels look new.

Honestly, I do not see how he has stayed in business for 15 years with service and products like this. I'm usually the passive guy that just lets little things go but these are wheels i would not be proud to put on my vehicle. If they are not finished to my satisfaction, I will be contacting the better business bureau.

Once again I'm sorry about ranting to you, I'm just quite angry for him dicking around for almost a full week, then returning a product that is far below par.

Please just let me know what you think you can do or what I should say to him.
