Raced an 07 528I this morning

From a stop at a traffic light I had him by 2 lengths by third gear

From a rolling start from 20-80 I had him by 3 1/2 before he backed out.

Was very suprised given that I tried it 2 months ago againast a 535I and he walked from me like I was sitting still

What are you running for an engine set-up? Isn't the 528 the 6cylinder motor?

Won't have a chance against an M5.

HA I ran a 530i to over 140mph and I was still pulling on him! BMWs have pretty good top end.

or try a 135i with a chip and oil cooler for 400whp. And nearly 400ft/lb at 1400 (yes 1400) rpm. that reminds me to go ask to borrow one for an evening to check out

the old 528s are weak as shit - its like a 328 .... 528s are heavyyyy

The 528 is a slug. Big car with a V6 230 hp motor. The 535 has the V6 twin turbo like the 335

it's an 3.0 inline 6 with 250 or 255hp.
BMW uses inline 6 engines not V6

OP...never mentioned your mods. I'd guess stage 1/1+.

I got walked by the older M5 the other day. I was following him to columbus, OH and we were going 90 then he just laid on it. I was with him till 120 then bye bye.

My care has a boost leak also, so I was 3lbs shy of the amount of boost I typically push. Oh well, it was fun ;)

He actually mentions getting walked by a 535 in his post. I only mentioned the 335 because people identify more with the twin turbo motor being in that car and not in the bigger 5 series which clearly he was surprised to get walked by

Once my new engine is in and fully tuned I plan on going up against my friend's E39 M5. Just to see what we've got.

^^the E39 540i has a 0-60 of 5.7 auto, thats pretty dang Quick!
