My girlfriend wants to learn how to drive a manual so my question is how hard is it on the clutch and other parts of the car assuming there will be lots of stalls and hard starts?

    Re: clutch question

Depends how bad she is at driving stick. I mean if she revvs to 4k and eases the cluth out, you can guess what happens. I would have her practice on another car.

    Re: clutch question

Just tell her not to give it any throttle at all, and slowly let out the clutch. These engines have plenty of torque to launch from idle.

    Re: clutch question

I would be more worried about the transmission if i were you. Clutch is maintaince item but the tranny seems like it would be a bitch to do and expensive.

    Re: clutch question

let her drive your car. it'll get you ass points for her thinking you trust her enough with it and its hot when a girl drives your car. You don't sound that worried, so I'm sure she'll be fine. If she's not that great, just have her let out the clutch slowly and ride the idle a bit before she gives it any gas. That way she'll get a feel for where the friction point is.
