Does anybody have an idea how much this car will cost AWD 2.0T with 265hp. I am guessing it will be more than the A3 Quattro 3.2. Which is $40k already. Any good ideas? Will it run 0-60 under 6.0 seconds? And I hope it will have a real 6-speed manual. Trying to decide between this and a BMW 135i sport manual.

I am just going to assume you are in the U.S.(per your user info).

Sorry to be the bearing of bad tidings but AoA has no plans, at this time, to bring the S3 Sportback to the U.S. We will be getting a 2.0t quattro, but the only transmission option will be DSG. And that engine will only be 200/211 HP. And it will probably be $2,000-$2,200 more than the current 2.0t DSG option.

There is still a chance AoA could decide to bring the S3 Sportback over for MY 2010/2011; but even if they did it probably wouldn't be a manual transmission. They already have the 2.0t w/quattro combo federalized with DSG for both this new A3 and the forthcoming TT-S. They aren't going to spend the money on a whole new set-up.

I thought I read its coming here this fall? I will search more. The only way I would buy an S3 is with the 265hp 2.0T and 6-speed manual. No Auto and low hp for me. Thanks.

No plans to bring it to the States, S3 Sporback hits 60 mph in 5.8 seconds (vs. 5.7 for the two door).

Then you are probably going to want to pop on over to the BMW dealership.

I was looking at that 135i as well. I really love the look of the Tii Concept. But I really want to stick with AWD so the 1-series is off the table.

YAH I love the idea of AWD. I live in northern IL. so a set of Dunlop D3's on 17's will be a must. It will be my daily driver.

What did you think of the 135i ??? I am worried about BMW reliability???

The nice thing about the 135i is that twin-turbo has been well tested in the 3-series(and if you chip that thing you will make crazy power.

I think overall reliability in any car is a crap shoot. I have not had a single issue with our 3.2q A3 but I have seen plenty of people on the forums with numerous problems. Every model will have some with issues. Hope yours is not one of them.

    Re: 2009 Audi S3 Sportback

Audi reliability is as good as BMW if not better. lol. The 135i is FAST, might not be much fun driving it in northern IL winters though. The 2.0t quattro Stage 1 or higher would be a hoot to drive year round. Not sure why people are so set on 6spd when the DSG 0-60 is faster?

    Re: 2009 Audi S3 Sportback

I like to drive the car, not have the car drive me. Auto's are boring IMO. And 0-60 numbers are just that. Driving a manual makes the car FEEL faster.
