    Just beat a Z28 Camaro

Hey guys, its been awhile but here I am with an kinda entertaining race story:

So I was coming home from Sunnyvale tonight after hanging out with my homegirls and as I was merging on to 280S from 85S I see this car trying to pass me. So I did the logical thing and downshifted and gunned it.

Immediately I can tell he wanted to play because I didn't exactly see him fly into my rearview mirror. I was beating him till a car infront of me was also merging so I had to slow down and I had to downshift into 3rd and go around that stupid ass. I continued to gun it and popped it into 4th, then 5th. Eventually I started creeping up behind him and hit around 110mph (Note that I had to brake and slow down due to the car infront of me), but suddenly my front grill popped out of my Boser hood [O_O] (What happened was that I dont have hoodpins yet, and since the hood was so light, it unlatched itself from the high speed) and I had to pull over to fix it. I popped my hood and my manifold glowed the brightest I've ever seen . Pretty fun race. Not bad for a GTRS Elim setup

Well thats all. See you guys around!

Re: Just beat a Z28 Camaro

Let me re-phrase this... Nice pull.

Only 110 in 5th? C'mon you got more than that im sure =) I usually top out at 120in 4th at 7k.

IMO, if you guys never lined up it wasnt a race. Obviously though if you were able to pull on that Z28 then we all know what the out come would have been had you actually lined him up.

But yeah like Mike said, I woulda done the same thing but I would have got my ass handed to me.

The thing w/ your hood is ghetto fab =) and actually made you lose since you couldnt pull in front because your hood popped.

Yea only 110mph cuz right when it hit 110, my grill popped out. I was like shit... I dont wanna risk it flying off and hitting my windshield or something. But yeah, I did lose since I couldnt pull in front, but I could just picture the face of the driver of the Camaro. [O_O] hahahahaha

It doesnt.. this is my first time having my Boser hood pop out of its latch from driving too fast. But it is recommended that you get hoodpins to prevent it from happening ever.

So how much $$$ does it take to make 300chp on the 1.8t? Can it be done with about $4k?

Yep. Probably less. My turbo setup ran me about $2800 and then I bought an ER Comp, which runs pretty high in the $$$ factor, but I'm sure you can get 300chp without the ER Comp.
