just traded in my a4 1.8t b6 for a 2008 s4

Hello everybody!
I've been browsing all the forums since my first audi b5 1.8t in 2004 and finally registered. My b6 a4 i traded in had all these mods:
1)Sachs 300 Ft lbs. heavy duty clutch
2)Upgraded Snub mount and motormounts
3)KN filter
4)AWE Exhaust
5)Tyrol intercooler
6)K04 FX giac turbo upgrade with injectors,etc.
7)Very stringent maintainance / oil change / fluids routine
8)Always ran 94+ octane

Maybe around 250 HP at crank and 270 Crank Tq in a 3300 lb car
Result was this fuckin car hauled ass ! the only problem was shit
kept breaking, and after getting stuck 3 times i had enough.
My new s4 feels not much faster to my dissapointment, but im thinking its the ecu limiting the v8 until its fully broken in. I currently have 670 miles on it, and she feels like shes pulling better and better... am I crazy to think this or is it just the break in period?

You have to remember that the K04 will give you a different feeling of power than a NA car. Even i was a little disappointed coming from a chipped B5. I thought it would be exponentially better. However, numbers don't lie. 0-60 difference isn't as noticable as the 0-100 times.

trust me it is. i thought the same thing about my A4 (270CHP/301CTQ). i pretty much had every mod you could throw at my B5 A4 click link in sig for mods. and my car is lighter than the B6 A4. and i raced my brother B6 S4 and he killed me. didn't matter the gear...he would be able to pull past me. my only hope was down low at the initial blast...but in the same gear he would pass me and continue to pull.

it's all about that V8 sound...not to mention Recaro seats...2008, huh? did you get the manual? If so, you got the RS4 pedals, and convenience pkg gives you 18" RS4s!

Sorry about pics! I just registered 2 hrs ago . I will post after this weekend. going away with family. Did you guys feel a significant power increase after break in ? maybe the new engine is a bit sluggish from friction . I inquired about a giac chip but was told it didnt come out yet for my engine. Anyway , im happy with the car but always looking for a few ponies. Car is a lease, so no exhaust / downpipe mods are planned. Will a chip make a difference?

the GIAC makes the power delivery smooth across the board. Just search and you will find lots of threads on the G-Chip. I notice I had a lot more fun with my car after like 1000 miles. Feels like it's getting better after a while. I'm at 6500 miles now, and it feels pretty awesome. Then again, I didn't have a chipped B6...
