I have an odd noise coming from the head area when I start my car up and first drive it. It's a high pitched whine that kinda sounds like a bad belt, but it's ABSOLUTELY coming from the head are.

What the hell would that be? It only lasts for about 30-60 seconds when as I start to drive, and changes in frequency with RPM's.

    Bad cam shaft bearing?

Im not sure what you consider a whine. Are you sure its not your SAI kicking in off the start?

it squeals like a like a bad belt would, except it's coming from the top of the engine and not from the belt area.

Could most probably be your serpentine tensioner pulley going bad! Does it do it alot more frequently when raining?

    Re: odd noise?

I wondered that. I'm about to change the timing belt, and serp belt. I'll swap that out too while I'm in there.

I thought about the rain too. It might be slightly worse when it's raining or super humid.

I hope it's the belt or tensioner! I really don't want to drop the coin on rebuilding the head. I only plan on keeping the car about 6-8 more months
