i'm trying to get my memory seats to go into position depending on which remote key i use to unlock the car. the dealer showed me when i picked up the car, but i totally forgot (it was kinda complicated :) i've read the manual, but found the explanation quite confusing (who writes these things?) can anyone that knows how to do this please post some step-by-step instructions? thanks.

Press both Memory and button number (1-4) to store a seat/mirror position. Pick the seat memory position you want to associate to a key; simultaneously press the corresponding number button and the unlock button for the given key. Repeat with a different setting for the other key. That should be it.

    Lock the car with one of the keys; unlock with the other one;
the mirrors adjust when you push unlock on the remote
the seat adjusts when you open the door

I also found I had to VAG-COM Module 36 drivers seat adjustment to 00001; it was orginally at 00002.

    C0,Driver's Seat Adjustment (J136) Coding
C1,00001 - Selecting recall button items via remote control key.
C2,00002 - Selection of last seat/mirror position as vehicle was locked (automatic).
C3,00003 - All remote control key memory functions inactive.

Thanks for posting those instructions. I had been following the instructions in the darn manual, and was pulling my hair out.
These are different and don't use the memory button at all to attach the remotes to the settings.

    Thank again!

I know! Wish I had it but then again nobody drives my car except me so it would be kind of a waste.

I think it's standard on the 3.2L model. I'm not sure what package it falls into for the 2.0T. I know it's not S Line or Convenience.

    My 05.5 has it...
I'm the only driver as well, so although the key thing is cool, I don't use but one. However, I have 3 memory settings in use.
    1. Normal relaxed driving position
    2. Aggressive driving position (More upright and proper postured)
    3. Full recline and relaxed...

Re: Anyone know how to do this?

All 05.5-06's with the Tech package had memory seats.

for 2007+ cars in the US only the 3.2 got the memory seats (as an option)

In Canada, the 2007+ 2.0T Quattro's also got memory seats (as an option)

My 2006 2.0T Quattro Avant has the memory seats.. (it also has heated REAR seats which wasn't available on US 2.0T's)
Memory Seats are super handy for me, as my fiancee and I both use the car and I hate having to re-adjust everything. The Climate Control settings are also stored in the memory so when she uses her key it uses her climate control settings, when I use mine it uses my climate control settings.

Hm that's a good idea. Sometimes I kick my seat controls when I get into my car too which messes up my setting so it would be nice to have one locked in. Alas, that will never happen on this car

    Same...

My heated rear seats came with the cold weather package, which also has the ski sock on the middle pass-through.
My favorite option by far is still the powered rear window sun screen! ( No more A-hole kids with glairing headlights on my @ss at night! )
Gonna be hard to own another car without it....

I really hate that the buttons for blue tooth/phone are in the car, but it doesn't work . However, I definitely enjoy the memory seats, tilt mirror for making sure I don't curb my wheels, and its nice when people get to enjoy the rear heated seats.

I wish I could use the mode button at least to switch to FM-AM-CD-etc but that's not possible. Anyways, hopefully I make use of it when I get an aftermarket headunit within the next month or two.

Tilt mirror is great, when it's working properly. Haven't pulled it apart to see if something behind the mirror is messed, maybe it just needs a good blast of water to wash out which I haven't done in a really long time.

Was in the backseat of a friend's 3.2L and commented "where the heck are the heated seats?!??" LOL. No cold weather package.
