Who wants a "Vorsteiner" hood?

Ok I am in need of hood badly and i really like the Vorsteiner hood. Well since there was only 1 released since it never made it to the production stage i was wondering why can't someone else make it? Im sure if we show some kind of interest and can prove that there are people willing to pay to get this style hood then im sure one of the official advertisers could have one made. This is simply a poll thread to gather interest since im sure we would all love a vorsteiner hood.

Hopefully we can get something going. I have tried to contact Vorsteiner but can't find a email address or phone number. We need to send them a list of people interested and pray that we have enough for them to start producing them agian.

^ it appears they did which seems like a killer deal! Their site says $900 right there, so I am just going by that. It's about time we had a decent group buy that actually gave us a deal. exactly, some people dont actually think about what they are saying when they say it. It's only rice if it looks ridiculous and it a jdm-like part. An M3 hood is not rice by definition. You can call it ugly if you like if it isnt your style, but it certainly isnt rice.

If it aint rice, then it's eurotrash. Regular 3 series don't need big ass louvers on a hood like the GTR, that's the same thing as putting a big ass GTR spoiler on the trunk of a regular 3 series. Btw, just because you don't agree with my opinion, doesn't mean I don't think about what I'm saying. Shit like this makes you look like an ignorant fool, we're all entitled to an opinion. And I'm certainly not the only one who thinks that if a mod isn't functional, it's rice. Wheels are wheels, door blades are door blades, but a solid hood isn't a hood with holes in it that serve a purpose on the car the hood belongs on, do you understand the distinction?

the vorsteiner hood for the M3 is one of the best pieces ever made - that hood wasn't made for the A4 ... and yes the M3 does require a hood like that because most of the guys that have that hood have some kind of upgrade from AA or Dinan ....

IIRC, the Blue car in that picture is for sale on e46 along with another Steel grey e46 - both of which have 500hp + with AA superchargers ....

no one is talking about putting that identical hood on a stock A4 .... so think before you f*cking call people ignorant - the original hood at the top of the post for the A4 looks nothing like this

Do you know how to read English? Where did I say "spoilers are spoilers"? I was talking about wheels and door blades, those are functional items, and S4 door blades happen to do a much better job than flat A4 door blades at protecting the doors from dings and scrapes in certain situations. Big spoilers and hoods with holes in them on A4s and regular 3 series are pointless. That's what a lot of people refer to as rice.

I guess English isn't your first language. I called the dude ignorant because he figures I don't think about what I'm saying just because my opinion differs from his. So what we went OT, we are clearly talking about the GTR hood for M3s, not the A4 hood this poll is about, which looks great, btw. Next time, please read more carefully before you start throwing f words like you're 14yrs old.

Why, I'm not flaming anyone, I just stated my opinion and some people got their panties in a bunch because they don't agree with me. Winston can do whatever he wants to "his" car. Not to mention, I'm not saying it's not possible to "make" hood louvers functional, but just taking a GTR hood and putting on an M3, is not the same thing, that's rice, whether you like it or not.

Anyway, getting back on topic. The hood this thread is about is great, it’s subtle and obviously lighter than the stock hood, so it’s functional. I’d buy it if they work this out.

There is another advantage to vented hoods that people rarely speak about.

Besides the obvious, that is to remove some of the heat within the engine bay it also helps aerodynamically. Air goes into the engine bay through the front by underneath and build air pressure inside the engine bay because it as no where to go. That's one reason cheap hoods balloon as you go faster and faster. Well by having vents the air inside is no longer trapped and exits along with the heat through the vents and may actually increase the down force on the front axle.

Of course this is assuming it is well designed.

Can someone confirm and show me a picture of the Vorsteiner hood for the B6 A4 with the vents.
