Will it fit on a FWD? How come all distributors have it listed for the Quattro?

its pretty good i like it...
If you want sound just remove the resonator and there you go. So people just want an exhaust for sound and some want for performance gains. Depends what you want.

I ordered my FWD from Fixxtuning.com they are local here in Tampa. They had it shipped directly from Milltek which took about a week.

    axleback = mufflers

    catback = resonator and mufflers

turboback or "full exhaust" = tespipe or high-flow cat, downpipe, resonators and mufflers.

    Re: Milltek Exhaust

why pay for a new exhaust just to keep a tone that's hardly audible? for a turbo upgrade yes, otherwise it's a waste in my opinion...you won't really see any gains unless you put a lot more $ into engine upgrades as well. way too many people here pay high prices for a milltek system just to keep the car sounding nearly the same as stock. pointless!

thats my argument, go with a louder and better sounding system ;)

    Another question:

What does every part above do? I know the mufflers are the parts that stick out of the car, right?

    So do I want:
Milltek Audi 2002-on A4 1.8T FrontTrak 5-Speed DUAL Stainless Steel Exhaust.

    Or

    Milltek HiFlow Cat for the A4 2.0T 2005.5-up (B7)

Will these work on Automatic transmissions?

Also, will these cause be to not be able to pass emissions, or anything of that sort?

lol your going to want an exhaust for 2.0 because you have a 2.0...

also, theres no use getting just a cat unless you want to do some welding to your stock exhaust...

    read read read :D

edit: you probably will have emission problems with a test pipe, high flow cat should work if they are easy on you, I dont know about AZ but here in calif, its illegal to have an aftermarket cat, even if it does the same thing.

    Re: Milltek Exhaust

HID is right. You'll need this.. Milltek Audi 2002-on A4 1.8T FrontTrak 5-Speed DUAL Stainless Steel Exhaust

Stratmosphere offers you the flexibility of choosing between 90 and 100mm tips when ordering your system.

Milltek HiFlow Cat for the A4 2.0T 2005.5-up (B7)... this is a high-flow catalytic converter, not an exhaust system.

    performance... go MTM then

    Re: Milltek Exhaust

Okay, you may want to use the search function and do some homework on your own before posting questions that are fairly basic. That said, here's a helping start:

Exhaust systems are interchangeable between B6 1.8T and B7 2.0T cars. However, you can't use a FWD exhaust on an AWD and vice versa.

A catalytic converter or "cat" is essentially a filter that is primarily used to reduce harmful emissions produced by combustion. This can be replaced with a high-flow cat which has more porous filtration and therefore allows more exhaust to flow through. It will also make your car louder. You can also do a "cat delete" or testpipe which replaces the cat with a bypass. This option will not pass emissions as it's harmful to the environment, will make your car very loud and will stink like gas fumes but people install them anyway because it's very unrestrictive and generates more power on a turbo car.

The resonator is a mid-mounted muffler that provides filtration and noise reduction but primarily works to reduce drone and resonance generated by the exhaust. Yes, the mufflers are the part that sticks out of the car, or rather the muffler tips which are attached to the muffler, and provide further exhaust filtration and noise reduction.

    Re: Milltek Exhaust

Hey Vice I live down the street from you, near 19th and Baseline, If you want to see the tips in person on my B6 in a couple weeks - car's away for some tranny work right now. It's not that big, 90-100MM is the external diameter, the rolled edges make it look very refined, and the internal diameter is more like 75-85MM.

I think the tips look much better than others that just have straight sheet metal with no rolled edge FWIW.

I just measured the tips on the wife's B7 stock exhaust, and they are 75MM OD and about 65MM ID. 100MM OD on the Milltek is not that big of a jump.

BTW - this is the one you need:
    http://www.millteksport.com/exhaust....?variantid=205

It is not listed on Stratmosphere's web site; you should call them and see if they can get it for you if that's what you want.

What mods are you planning? That'll determine whether you would benefit from a Hi-Flow Cat (HFC) and/or and exhaust.

There is a local Arizona tuner who is developing exhausts for Audi models. They can also do HFC's. I'm not affiliated in any way, but I've dealt with Eric Gasser and he's a good guy:

    Re: Milltek Exhaust

I have a CAI, GIAC chip, and probably won't do any other upgrades for a while. I read people saying to remove the resonator and that'll give me a louder sound. Unless I could hear it, then I wouldn't do it. I'm very particular about what sound I want...I hate exhausts that crackle and buzz (sounds ricey) to me. In fact, the ONLY exhaust I have heard on youtube that I would ever imagine putting on my car would be the Milltek. If I simply remove the reasonator from my exhaust, or go down the route of just a HFC, will that yield the same sound as the Milltek? Don't know, but I doubt it.

Siggiepop, you are absolutely right. I just want to bring out the deep sound. I love hearing these videos of the car idling: just a pleasant deep hum...no crackling.

    Re: Milltek Exhaust

Now, I have a B6, but my Milltek never cracks, buzzes, or pops. Most of those sounds are what you hear from poorly tuned Hondas anyway. When I get my car back in the next couple weeks (tranny rebuild #2) You are more than welcome to take it for a drive and see if you like it. I personally think that the Milltek will be a little louder on a 2.0t vs. 1.8t, since the stock 2.0t exhaust note seems to be a little more pronounced than I remember the 1.8t sounding. The CAI and HFC will make the Milltek louder as well in my experience.

I think you would benefit from the exhaust, but I don't know that a Milltek HFC is worth the cost vs power increase in your situation. The guys I mentioned above can do one much cheaper (although not platinum coated like the Milltek) if you really want one. Labree Motorsports also makes reasonably priced HFC for about the same price as Tuning Gruppe, but again not with all the bells and whistles that the Milltek HFC has to keep exhaust temps down.

Mark, I appretiate you allowing me to check out your car. I can't wait until you have your car back (as I'm sure you're also waiting impatiently).

By the way Mark, what do you have on your B6? Catback? Turboback? If turboback, which HFC do you have?

    Re: Milltek Exhaust

I have a catback. If I had a HFC, I'd probably buy a used Milltek or a 200- or 300-cell new or used one from somewhere else. I do not have an intake, but when I used a K&N filter the exhaust had a more open (wee bit louder) tone.
