Worth it to hold out for an S-Line?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've been in the market for only a few weeks now, but it seems that it is going to be very difficult to find a manual 2.0T S-line at a dealer in the chicago area (2005.5-2007 CPO). I really like the way they look, and I want the sport suspension, but its it really worth it to hold out for what could be a long time to get one?

Just trying to get some opinions
    thanks

Re: Worth it to hold out for an S-Line?

To answer your question I feel you should wait until you find what you really want. If you don't you'll just regret it. You're just going to end up dumping money into the non sline to make it look like an sline anyway so be patient and broaden your search to a larger area. I'm from Chicago and I drove to Minnesota to pick up my car because it was exactly what I was looking for.
    Happy hunting.

Thats easy though...Just change the A to an S, your engine instantly becomes a V8 just by doing that.

the sline is a waste of money your going to probably change everything anyway and if you want the s line door blades just get the s4 door blades there bigger

    I completely disagree.

Very few people would "change everything". Think about what you get: 18" RS6 Wheels, more aggressive front fascia, painted rear valence, more pronounced doorblades, interior enhancements, and sport suspension.

You have to spend alot of coin to get all of that by "changing everything". But hey, not everyone wants it all up front and others want to spend all their mod money under the hood, just my $.02

Re: Worth it to hold out for an S-Line?

Yes, the s-line is worth it. I took me three months to find a black s-line, titanium, quattro in manual and had to get the car from PA to BC. There's always a compromise, mine didn't come with NAV or technology, but I got 95% of what I was looking for. Good luck with the search.

Re: Worth it to hold out for an S-Line?

If you find the car you want with the options you are looking for, and it's nonSline, just buy it and change out the front bumper. It will probably have dings and chips on it from the past owner anyway.

    Search Results

We found 1,269 Audi listings any distance from Las Vegas, NV.

I just searched "s-line, manual, 4 cylinder engine, 2006-2008" on autotrader. I don't know how accurate that is but seemingly there are a lot of them for sale. Just have one shipped.

Re: Worth it to hold out for an S-Line?

i cant tell you how glad i am that i held out for an sline instead of the regular a4. every time i go in for service and they lend me a loaner regular a4 im reminded how much better my car is and how they feel like two different machines in my head, kinda like comparing a luxo WRX to a luxo STI (btw revo makes a difference too:)

Yeah, I thought there were a lot more things different then just the doorblades. I think if it were just the suspension that was different, then that is something I could upgrade with aftermarket stuff, but it seems like there are too many things, and plus I wouldn't want to be a poser.

Has anyone have experience with a local dealer buying one for you and bringing it in?
