B8 A4 Arrives in September in the US?

So many people are gonna be eating their words when they finally see the B8 in person it's not even funny. Even in pictures, it's miles ahead of the B7 styling and looks NOTHING like a BMW. I've seen tons of pics and saw both a sedan and an Avant in person at the auto show and will never understand why some feel the need to make negative comments. Maybe they feel threatened? I bought my B7 knowing full well I'm buying a B8 when it arrives. My only conundrum is what power plant to get.

Haha, not exactly a fair comparison (lowered B8 with aftermarket componenets versus stock B7 S-Line with 17's) but I agree with you, the B8 looks AMAZING. I'm kinda kicking myself for buying a B7 instead of waiting

I drive a B7 now and I love the looks, and I also love the looks of the B8. AUDI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both are very nice looking in my opinion, I be switching to B8 S4 in the future.

The B8 in the pics that Louis J. just posted are the hottest B8 that I've ever seen. In fact, I've never liked the B8 until now. If that is what the S-line version will look like, then I will be making a trade once my car is 18 mos. old. I'll lose my shorts on the deal, but it will be worth it.

That's exactly what the B8 looks like...lower roofline and wider body. The only thing unique about the B8 above is that it's lowered on 20s. I'm getting an Ibis Avant with terra interior. Yum!

the new B8 is beautiful, but the overall size is a little bloated to me. i think its 1.3" shorter than the current A6. nice, but too big for me right now. but the weight savings and newer powertrain layout might be worth it. i know the 3.0 TDI is definitely worth it.

That's because the B7 shares the same chassis with the B6, and is really a B6.5.

B5 went from 96-02= 7 Years (2002 S4 was B5 Platform)
B6 and B7 are the same car- 02-08- 6 Years. B7 was a facelift of the B6.

B6 and B7 have the same interior except for the steering wheel, The exterior has the same doors, roof, has a different front, rear bumper and head lights tailights. Most of the car is the same. 85% is the same.

We have had the B8 for several months here in Norway now and I can tell you it's a great car! With the streched out body and the pushed forward front axel it handels perfectly, and the design and the interior is great.....I am sorry to say but it makes our B7 look old....:(....
The Avant has release date this month.

I like the b8s looks. Looks angled and modern. It just looks kind of big for an a4. Looks more the size of an a6. But what can you really judge about size from a few pics.

I always love when the new model vs old model debates pop up. Happens every time.

The worst was when the B6 first came out. It was such a drastic change and departure from the outgoing B5. The enthusiast community was furious, outright lambasting Audi for the design changes. But, after a few months, the B6 began growing on people.

Then came the B7 with its "fishmouth grille". The hate threads popped up yet again.

IMO, the new B8 is the best model yet. I instantly fell in love with it, saw the potential, and knew Audi had a huge hit on their hands. The only downside (which only us snobby Audi enthusiasts would see as a bad thing), is that it means we'll be seeing more and more A4s on the streets...

My sentiments as well. I have an appreciation for all versions of the A4 but the B8 really is the best overall design to date.

B8 S4 isn't available for at least another year.

Actually, based on Audi's dimension drawings, the B8 A4 is 3" longer / 1" narrower / 2" taller than the A5, and over 8" shorter than the C6 A6.
