    Service Insp Flashing

I've got a 1998 1.8 T and there's a 'service insp' light flashing where the mileage typically is. It only does it for like 30 seconds, but its annoying as hell. I tried turning it off by pushing the button down while its in the on position (according to the manual), but while that worked for one time, it just went right back on the next. Any tips?

Also, my airbag light went on... is this gonna cost me my left kidney to get checked/fixed... I'm just a poor college student. Anything help you can offer would be much appreciated. Thanks!

push the button in for the trip, then turn the ingnition on, press the trip button again two times, the first will say oil, the second will say service, then pull out on the clock button and it will go away.
