    Hello New guy here.

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello everybody. I have been searching for a perfect car. I have owned several cars in the last 2 years after being a truck guy. I am on several forums and have been watching Audi closely lately. I am impressed with Audi. The cars I have been looking at are:

    BMW 135i
    Infiniti G37S
    EVO X
    WRX STI
Waiting to see the 2009 Acura TL SH-AWD

My budget is about $42k with a discount. I want a manual with a sport package. I don't need all the bells and whistles. Just want the best engine, suspension, wheels, looks. I don't need NAV, Bluetooth, and any fancy options, looking for a drivers car. About the only fancy option I would want is the best Audio option. I am an Audio/Video nut.

The new A5 looks great, the new A4 coming looks sweet also. Living in Northern IL. with the winters I think a quatro would be nice. I really want a fast car that handles great, looks great, and doesn't cost an arm/leg. I don't need alot of room, just myself. I was close to ordering a mostly loaded BMW 135i manual sport, but Audi has reallt caught my EYE. WOW.

    Have a great weekend everybody

You can see my Avatar. 118" Carada screen, ALL HD Home theater. The lights were on so the screen is washed out. But it is so sweet in the dark. The set-up is for movie theater setting.

The only Lexus I was considering was the IS 350, but no stick available sucks. Plus I have read alot about it not having any real driver feel, numb says many.

    A 2008 Audi S4 starts at $49k. I don't want a VW. Audi or BMW.

I ended up getting a250 with a manual. Nice car. Def not fast with 200 hp. but a nice car, good daily driver, got a killer deal on it so it's all good. Miss driving an audi though.

    Re: Hello New guy here.

Just putting it out there...the new Evo is absolutely amazing..test drove one yesterday.

The new STi on the other hand needs to be burned. Subaru f-ked up big time on that.

Depends on what you're looking for in a car, if you want luxury Audi is def not a bad way to go. But imo I'd go with a bimmer. The new 1's are super sweet and you can never go wrong with a turbo 6.

Yeah the Evo is sweet. They made it 600lbs heavier and gave it no more power....a real drivers car

Have you even driven one yet?

A "Drivers Car" is more about handling and utilizing the power available. They went with a newer engine platform and parted ways with the 4G and yes they lost power but the power loss is almost insignificant, coming from someone who has driven 8's, 9's, and now the current Evo.

Stock for stock that Evo wipes its ass with your car, and after all the mods and money you have to put into an A4 to get it handling the same way you might as well have saved up. Although I must give something to your credit, it IS also majorly dependent on the driver as well, as I've seen Audi's totally spank Evo's and Sti's alike.

I love Audi and the cars they make but I also pay respect where respect is due.

I'm not saying that its the is all end all to performance and handling, but you'd better believe its a contending heavy-weight.
