The interior door leather is destroyed from the glass tearing it there are scratches on the outside paint. Little shards of glass literally EVERYWHERE in the car!! fuck im so pissed and they stole two ipods and my passport 8500i. Luckily they didnt look in the trunk because they could of taken my sub and amp. just had to vent

No im driving around with a towel wedged in my door until I can get it into the shop!!

Hide your crap! My 8500 is always mounted to my windshield so long as I'm not in a bigger city, but I hide my Ipod and anything else when I'm parked anywhere public other than at work.

Are you windows tinted? It would have greatly helped with cleanup if they were

I'm scared of that happening to me everyday since I don't live in a great neighborhood in nyc and I park on the street.

    Re: Car Broken In

Yea, it sucks.. but take it as a lesson learned. Always hide your stuff no matter how insignificant it maybe to you, whether it be a sunglass case or electronics.

Though that doesn't even come close as bad when comparing what happened with my old car, where someone broke into it for some burned cd's (cd-r's), since I left a nice stack in the center console. So they broke the passenger side window, though the funny thing was that they left the hood popped open thinking the hood release was for the trunk, all the while the trunk release was on the door, which they never found.

And don't bother taking it up with insurance.. it'll probably be cheaper to just get a glass shop to install a new window, specially since your not tinted...

    Re: Car Broken In

I forgot to mention I do have tint on my car 35% on that particular window, but even with 35% it is still pretty easy to look in. I thought the tint would help with the clean up but it didnt at all. UCF parking garages are known for this kind of thing but there are NO cameras in any of the garages just the stairwells!!

    Re: Car Broken In

that really sucks. so sorry that happened to you There are so many break-ins at the UCF garages its awful. I'm surprised they broke into an A4 though they usually go for the hondas. People around here suck thats why I'm moving soon, I'm sick of this high crime around the university and the police doing nothing about it

factory alarm doesn't go off on broken glass... but it does protect our cars from being stolen just not the stuff inside them

its not a ghetto, just people from the ghettoish areas come over to this side of town to rob the college kids. Its so ridiculous and the police are just like "we don't have enough units to patrol" I know b/c I spoke to one of them last yr when I got robbed at gunpoint w/ my friend taking out the f*cking trash in his apt community. I'm getting the hell out of here come this time next month.
