I had mine replaced today by a friend of mine. He replaced the pads with OEM but for the rotors he took them to a machine shop to be resurfaced and then threw them back on. I was curious if anyone has any bad news for me for doing that.

nobody really resurfaces rotors anymore. replacement rotors are so cheap neway but i dont see anything really wrong with resurfacing as long as its still thick enough

On my S4 rears, I resurfaced them for $10 each, after the machining they were near the thickness that required replacement. So they only lasted about another 15k miles. When I replaced them new ones cost $34 each and should last 70k miles or so.

Zimmerman cross drilled rotors and ebc red stuff ceramic pads. I'd go with Mintex Reds if I were you though, very worth it.

I'm a big fan of the Axxis Ultimate Ceramic pads but you should run them at all four corners. Any pad should be run at all corners unless you are trying to correct an imbalance.
