"I don't want to raise my hood!"

Is it me, or is the B5 S4 engine visually boring? I suspect the short answer is that Audi engineers weren't too concerned with engine aesthetics.

I love my S4 - but to be honest, every other sportscar I've ever owned offered more to look at when you raise the hood. Removing the shrouds only serves to make it look more "industrial". Even my Yamaha powered Ford SHO had more to offer visually. What's the current wisdom for improving the looks of the 2.7 TT?

only thing really.. new valve covers and RS4 engine covers.. an intake.. maybe get some parts coated (y pipe) etc...

i like mine looking bone stock, minus flat black y pipe. the airbox cover is now there but wasnt when i took this pic.

My E46 M3 engine looked boring. Everytime I open my S4 engine they see the y pipe and read the "bi-turbo" thing and they freak out. It looks different then any other engine I'v seen. People always ask about this engine. My M3 people didn't care.

sounds like the kid that was pissed off that the front of his car "dipped" when he applied the brakes. he didnt last long either.

It appears that some, if not many S4 owners would agree that the OEM engine bay is less than striking. To compare this observation with some newbie weazel that makes a rediculous statement about performance car handling is a bit of a stretch. I suppose the teaser title might have been a bit much - but c'mon - I just wanted some suggestions on how to improve it.

i prefer the OEM 'nothing to see here' look.. there's not too many cars you can double the horsepower and have everything look 100% stock.

i think double sided CF hood and all CF trims, samco hoses, high polish visible metal tubes and DVs, uh...that is pretty much it for me...

I agree!!!! Sleeper statis!!! "I thought I heard a turbo??? Where is it?"

The only think I would like to do is redo the Y pipe to make it smooth and Shiney. just so that it is easier to clean. The surface of it right night makes it hard to clean some spots because of the grooves...

Not to say all the setups posted doesnt look good...I think they look beautiful!!!!

Keep it up...Let see some more B5 S4 engine bays all done up!

What can be used to clean the plastic covers in the engine-bay to give them more of a clean and "shiny" look?

Its got to be the same code becuase it is identical to the exterior paint. Yeah it def helps the engine bay A LOT.
