    Re: Gas Question

I honestly don't think filling your tank twice with regular fuel will effect your car adversely.

Not the end of the world. Just don't boost at all. It will cause pre-detonation and = limp mode.

    Re: Gas Question

Your boost will be limited to <5psi until conditions become normal again, i.e. you stop knocking cause the correct octane is present.

I can't (edit: won't) believe running regular will put you in limp mode.

if you're really worried about it put fuel injector cleaner and octane booster until the tank is empty...

    Re: Gas Question

I've been driving like a fool to burn up the gas that came in my car off the lot. I don't know if the dealer put premium in it or not. I now have half a tank. Might top it off with 91 to see if I notice a difference.

    Re: Gas Question

I would hope german engineers would come up with a system that performed peak with premium but could handle regular without throwing a CEL. I just have more faith in them than that. I mean, the ECU senses and adjusts timing anyway so it should be designed to also handle regular.

I would entertain the possibility after extended or exclusive use of regular but contrarily I think there have been people here that use it without an issue. Actually, I might have taken issue with a combustion engineer about his assertion that regular was no different than premium and how he never gets more than regular. To each his own but I spring for premium and am comfortable believing I can get regular if I have to without blowing my flux capacitor.

    Re: Gas Question

haha no no i am not really worried ... but yah i am from canada so we are paying $1.31 per litre for regular so like 1.42 for premium haha which is unreal. cost me over $70 so fill my tank from under a 1/4 tank now with premium.
