Well my OEM rotors are somewhat warped and my pads are glazed (not sure to what extent) on the front...

Now i wont have much money for another couple of weeks...

Should i just lathe the rotors and then get new pads...or shell out the extra cash for this:

    Re: Squeeling Brakes

That stoptech kit isn't worth it. I was going to get it when it was 1/2 the price a year ago but then it shot up. I pieced my own system together and DIY'd the install. Saved a few hundred.

Depending on your mileage and more so the condition of your rotors, I would get new ones. I don't drive aggressively nor track or anything so the stock setup was fine for me - went with plain zimmermans off the web for ~$200 after a quick google search for the site's coupons. It was just too easy to get new ones.

You can get SS lines, better pads (Hawk HPS if you want sensors, Ferodo 2500 if you don't care about sensors) and Motul 5.1 or ATE (gold, not superblue to be safe) fluids and have just as good a kit as the one you're looking at for a lot less.

12/23/09 - My car has been phenomenal to me. Runs strong. Don't think I'm ever going to sell it. Rather throw $7k into it for a refresh than buy a new A4 that has no dipstick.
    12/5/10 - 100k miles & counting!
    9/22/13 - 146k+ & running strong w/a new TB, water pump, etc.

i autocross and track the car so the braking system gets plenty of abuse

Well if you are going to get the kit please get it here and save $65...

    http://www.ecodetuning.com/shop/cart...t_detail&p=307

As for my opinion, I was considering this same kit too. But I have decided that instead I am just going to get Hawk HPS Pads, with adam@spp Rotors and maybe some SS lines and call it done.
Looking for a good shop north of Boston, call Eurosport Performance

Ah, well tracking is a different story. It's a shame it's time for brakes and you're cash flow isn't peak.

If it were me and I was strapped for cash, I'd do my best to save and see if I couldn't swing a larger kit - maybe used B5 S4 calipers and the larger rotors. Maybe even troll a few local junkyards for B7 carriers and calipers (I think the calipers are different but they might not be).

I'll let someone else give you advice on BBKs.

yeah....i'd need it to clear my stock 17"s....they are gonna have my track tires on them and the 18" HP's will be the street wheels

Were you tracking with the stock setup? If not, what did you have and hwo happy were you with it - that will help with suggestions.

The stock setup is adequate......for a while...

The rotors warped pretty easily (they are still usable just make annoying noises) and the pads glazed (also adding to the noise)

I just want a good pad that wont glaze and a rotor that will dissipate heat and not warp as easily

    Re: Squeeling Brakes

Hmm, well for pads - I stick by my Ferodo 2500 suggestion. As far as rotors dissipating heat, the larger the rotor (more mass) the better it is at doing that. Maybe you can try to swing the 3.0 front brake setup. It can be pieced together pretty cheaply. You reuse the calipers but get slightly larger rotors. The key is the caliper carriers.
