if you want to keep it simple you will need a line level converter. amp wiring kit, sub, and box

Just be careful and make sure the shop (or you) knows what they're doing. Bose components are hard to match because of their wacky proprietary design. I tried replacing just the speakers and had to get all kinds of extra crap to make it work. It still sounded like crap and I ended up replacing the entire head unit.

I got mine installed a while ago, I put in an Earthquake Bp112, comes with an amp, a box, and a sub. All said and done it cost me 800, and probably the best bang for the buck I have ever spent. Only problem is, I didn't install it so I can't help you there. x2 on the line converter though.

Re: Looking to ad a sub & amp to my Bose system.

I kept it simple. Had a box made to fit flush in the corner of my trunk, and had a small amp attached to the back. I upgraded the head unit at the same time so it is run from the sub out.

If I did it again, I would have had a box built to fit in the side pocket in the trunk.
