Installing S4 sideskirts without the mounting brackets?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Planning on buying some s4 sideskirts here soon but prices at my local audi dealer are way too high for everything. They quoted me over $630 for just the skirts and brackets unpainted!

i've done plenty of searchin on the forums and have found some examples where people said they installed the skirts without the brackets. but i haven't found anything about whats needed to do this. im also planning on running without the door moldings so that wont be a problem.

for the people that have put the skirts on without brackets, could you give me some tips on how to do it?

Re: Installing S4 sideskirts without the mounting brackets?

I did mine without the brackets. I pulled up the black plastic molding that sits on the car, inside the doors. They're held on there with heavy duty double-sided tape so it makes it a little easier if you have a hair dryer/heat gun handy to heat up the glue to remove it. When you get the plastic pieces off, remove the rest of the tape residue and lay down new strips of heavy duty double-sided tape leaving the top half of the tape still covered so you don't get anything on it. Make sure the inside of the skirts are very clean for a stronger hold. Get a friend to help you set them in place on either side. Don't forget to test fit both skirts before you adhere them and make a mental note of how they should sit. As for the bottom portion of the skirts that just kind of hang down, I drilled some holes underneath my car and used some half-inch long screws where necessary to get it to fit correctly.

It's a simple but time consuming project and is definitely worth the effort in the end. Don't cut corners like I did my first time, take it slow and make sure everything fits well. If you have any questions, PM me. Good luck!

Screws in the underbody here too. Then some construction grade adhesive to hold it in place. I also molded them to my fenders

The real way to do it is those clips are attached to the body then s4 door trim overtop of it as well as Velcro along the door sills. If you want to do it the shitty way cut them off then use 3m tape or Velcro to attach them and keep your a4 door trim.
