this might be a stupid question but i was wondering if you could run a wastegate on a stock k03 turbo? also would it help at all by increasing boost preasure or hp at all?

All turbo's must have wastegates. Two different types are internal which the smaller stock turbo's have, and external which Im guessing is what you are thinking of. Internal gates are fine for lower HP lower boost apps, an external wastegate is normally used for higher boost and higher horsepower apps as they have better control and keep surge and boost flucuation to a minimum. As for increasing boost or power with a wastegate, in a sense it is possible by increasing the tension on the wastegate diaphragm, however that is not typically how it is controlled. More so with a software flash or a boost controller, partically with our cars!

u can crank ur wastegate in a little bit.. but thats risking blowing ur turbo.. i kno a kid with a jetta who took his wastegate hose off... he was hittin really high boost.. my friends b5 a4 with a k04 did it also he was hittin 35 psi he did it right before he was gettin ready to put his gt2871r setup on so he didnt care if he blew the k04.. he4 has a video of it...

I see you all the time, nothing should be done at all to the k03 wategate however the whole turbo should be ripped out and replaced with a bamft

Dont even worry about wastegates, when the time comes that you need one (external), you'll know you need it and why
