Need a new clutch

Dont know much about this topic but from what ive searched the general consciensus seems to be going with the Southbend FE SS. I have a normal K03 with the APR stage 1+ and really dont see myself upgrading to anything more. Would this be a good clutch and also if it is, where is the cheapest place that I could get one?

thats a bit of over kill for a chipped car, you really dont need that much of a clutch look at some of their stage 2 clutches. If you want to burn all 4 tires yeah get the FE, but i would go with their hd street and save about 200 on the clutch

I'm almost due for a clutch. Let me save you some time - Stage 4 Southbend OFE SS is teh consensus.

The FE is overkill if you're not tracking. Heck, even the OFE is kind of overkill but its wear characteristics are better than the alternatives. If you don't track or go crazy, then get the same clutch plate with a better pedal feel in the Stage 3 Southbend OFE (HD).

If your not going above your current setup, an OFE HD is sufficient. If you want something better, skip over the OFE SS and get the FE SS as you found searching! If you need some help with finding a place to get them, shoot me a PM

Im looking at prices...and i think im going to go with the OFE HD stage 3 unless I can find a site that I can get as good or better a deal on a OFE SS stage 4...does anyone know of a place?

Also do these prices include a fly wheel? is it necessary for me to replace it when I replace the clutch?

Most places offer the Southbend at the same price. If you get it directly from Southbend, you can send in your flywheel to get resurfaced for free - the catch being you can't finish the job for a couple extra days.

Everyone here recommends getting the flywheel resurfaced if possible. If not, most will say stick with the OEM dual mass over buying a single mass flywheel. Those that do get the single mass haven't had any major problems, though - maybe a bit of chatter but they do get faster rev pickup.

[email protected] got me hooked up with an FE SS, i have a well supported 1+ setup and my car is my daily driver. Im very happy with the FE, if you do mainly stop and go and arent upgrading above 1+ go with the HD series. When i hold the clutch in for awhile i can tell its a tad heavier than stock.

but i love spinning my rear tires and doing u turns in the rain!!! (stasis diff)
