I wanted to do the same thing and it has been done before. However, I decided to make my life a hell of a lot easier by buying a PC680 (oddessey) which weighs 14 lbs and put it into the stock location. I used the stock battery strap and modified it. I lost a little over 20 lbs in the front and have not had a problem with it yet even as a DD in Wisconsin. It also only took a few minutes.

How long have you had the Oddesey and have you ever left the lights on or had the radio on with the engine off?

You should never run any cables connected to the battery for any reason in the cabin. All that should go underneath the car. That includes sub wires.
