Custom Exhaust ?

Ok I know that there has been a few of these kind of post as of recent....but I still have a few questions that I haven't seen answered yet

With custom exhaust in mind for my 2.7T My goal is to be Stg 2+ in the near future...... I have definitely decided to go custom Magnaflow for the cat back portion and I want to know the best option or what others have done

-2.5'' or 3" for the piping from cat back
-I also want a magnaflow X pipe so I am wondering what part# to use
-I want stainless mufflers with tips, but it seems like the only options are 2.25 Inlet size or 3.0 Inlet
-Also I am leaning towards piggies and I was curious if you guys know the piping size

So in summary I want piggies to (???) size piping, x pipe, to magnaflow stainless steel w/ tip mufflers.

Check with Andrey (Kieskiy) I know he's at stage 2+ right now and he did something similar to what you are looking for... I myself have some Q's and watching all this posts trying to figure out what to do, but most posts focus on the exhaust note and I am interested in performance not how my car sounds...

i'm not sure about the way the exhaust is on the v6, but if its two separate pipes running from the cats, go 2.5" for both, i think 3" might be overkill. as for an x-pipe, just ask your exhaust shop if they hvae one with 2.5" inlets/outlets. and there are tons of magnaflow mufflers with 2.5" inlets, just go on the website and check out their catalogue

oh and even if the mufflers u get dont have the exact same size inlets as your piping, it doesnt matter, they can expand the pipes at the shop

Ok, I did see the 2 different part #'s on the X pipies and I wondered what length the others used. I would imagine the 12in would probably help to quiet the system better does this sound correct?

Mufflers....Ohhhhh ok so your saying if I choose a muffler that has a 2.25 inlet and 2.5in core they can expand the inlet to 2.5in without a problem??

well they can usually just attach a coupler which expands from 2.25 to 2.5. or if u get a muffler with 3" inlet, they just expand the 2.5 pipe to 3". i don't know if the length of the x-pipe makes much of a difference, its just an issue of room i think... id go with the longer one
