    Imobilizer question for my a4 to s4 swap *NO START*

    So those of you that have seen my post about my s4 swap into an a4. I finally got to the point where im tryin to start it but now all of the sudden the fuel pump isn't kickin on. I know it was working before because I accidently turned the key while the fuel lines were not connected. My question is now that I swap'd a new ecu/engine do I need to swap the s4 ignition because one or the other might have a imobilizer? I thought it was only in B6+ but I dont understand why the fuel pump is not working all of the sudden. I swap'd the s4 cluster in and no luck. Anyone have any imput?

    There is no immobilizer on US-spec B5s (A4 or S4). Start probing with a multimeter to see where your issue is.

    Yeah, no immobilizer on the B5 cars.

    Since this is an A4, you should check fuses 7, 31 and 32 to make sure they aren't blown.

    So let me ask you guys this, IF my vag is getting a missing signal from ecu code and the CEL light dose NOT come on with the key on, sounds like a case of a bad ECU correct?

    I had this same problem.
    You should first check to see if your spark plugs are getting fuel.
    You might have a bad fuse somewhere in the system that is messing things up.

    check all my fuses. fuel pump isnt kicking on, has power to the relay but no signal from whatever triggers the relay...assuming ecu....the no CEL light kinda eliminates just a fuse.
