It's really nothing like the s4. It's just an a4 with the ultrasport package and some wheels slapped on. I think the trying to look like an s4 thing was just for a selling point. -1 for the s4 badge though. I wouldn't be surprised if the dealer who's selling it put it on.

I agree. Other than the badge, it's a nice looking A4 USP.

On a related note, I kinda don't like how they call the S-line "S-line". They should have kept the term ultrasport or called it something else. I think "S" should only be used with actual "S" models. Having an "S-line" term for non "S" cars kinda cheapens or devalues the "S" in general, but I guess it's a good marketing strategy. "I don't have an S, but I do have an S-line that looks just like the S."

I saw the same thing here in NJ on a silver 528. The badge wasn't even positioned properly.

looks nothign like an S4...no mirror caps, door blades are too small, front/rear bumpers, interior, etc........
just trying to get as much as they can, to make it sound like someone put in a lot into it, when they only slapped on a badge and S4 wheels.

The guy changed the steering wheel too. Seems like a lot of effort to pose around in a fake S4. These wheels do look a million times better than any A4 wheels. So kudos for those at least.

Some cars have the little s line thing at the bottom of the wheel. Some ultrasports have it, others don't. Maybe it varies by the build date or if there's another sport package or something. Don't ask me, I'm just a lowly b5 guy

If it was a B7, they could throw this (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=208060) on and make it look even more like an S4.

All a B7 guy needs now is s-line, mirror caps, badges, rear valence, and AWE exhaust and he can pull of the S4 makeover, at least from the exterior.

My USP has OEM S4 mirror caps and wheels... the interior is the same except for the wheel. The sport flag is in the 2005 models... missing on the 2004's. I would never stick a badge pretending to be something that it is not.

I also prefer the look of the USP front and rear bumpers over those of the S4...

I'm not hating - I sold my B6 S4 on here...

S-line parts don't "devalue" the S cars at all .

If you want to get technical, the stock sport package (S-line) provides handling on par with an S4. The only real advantage to getting an S car is the bigger engine. The S4 suspnension is practically the same as an S-line, but beefed up for the extra weight of the S4.

Some people would rather have the great sport suspension and cosmetic S-line parts in a lighter, more efficient, and tossable car--I'm one of them.

To truly step in the sports department at Audi, and get improved performance other than just more HP, you need an RS car.

I agree with some of what you're saying. I like the S-line front bumper much better than the S4 bumper. When I got in an accident with my S4 I considered swapping out my front bumper to that one as long as it had to be done anyways. I also can appreciate things like A4 cars with an APR Stage 3 kit that can do 12 second 1/4 miles and still get 30mpg. I like the v8, just saying I can appreciate the 4 cylinder advantages as well. What's funny is that to the general public though, most would never even know the difference between an S4 and an Sline A4.

It is. There's a V8 badge to denote that it has the larger engine. What other real differences are there?

The S4 isn't Audi's range topper here. The RS4 is.

Audi making a sporty A4 is a great idea. Calling it an 'S-Line' may confuse some, but it has its marketing purposes.

Sounds like a lot of S4 owners are mad that the S-line resembles the S4 so much, lord forbid someone confuses a mighty S4 for a lowly A4. I guess I'd be mad too if an extra $15 grand only got me a V8, Recaros, and some other minor upgrades.

It was for the B6 series (there was no RS4 in the B6, only B5 and B7).
