is the only way to do it to hack it up with a sawzall? or is there a way to just get rid of the whole thing? my last attempt failed because i chewed up like 6 blades to make a cut that was MAYBE 1 foot long.

woah a sawzall?! just use a flathead screwdriver and break the melted plastic tabs holding it in. there also like 4 rivets holding it on that u need to break.

a sawzall sounds like a brute force method that will result in a messy job
