Posted on it back in January. Dog should've been dead. It's eyes were all rolled back and it was convulsing. Thought "No way there are no internal injuries". I was sick over it. But dog did overnight at vet and came out of it unscathed. Car wasn't so lucky.
But it's actually better now than prior to the hit, because the body shop is a guy I know and he fixed a lot of my hack job from when I shaved bumpers. Sprayed out whole passenger side as I had some scratches here and there.

    Re: Post dog-hit fix pics.

Yes, Vogtlands. Limited in drop only by the wheels. They are only about halfway down in the front, and not even 1/4 in the rear.
As for grilles, yes, the two centers are custom mesh. The fogs are standard USP, however I did shave out the backs to create more openings than the stock ones would normally have.
All the grilles come out easily if I needed them to. They all snap in place as the stock ones did. For the lower center, I had to custom fab some plastic on the lower bumper to make it work.

Yeah, that thing is a blast. I'm not out of break-in yet so I haven't even wound it out. Not like it needs to be, because the low-end torque is off the hook. Weird after riding a rice-rocket.
I'm trying to eventually black out everything on it and even source out the matte-black tank and trim. The stock '07 was too busy with like multiple shades of gold in the forks and calipers, plus the chrome headlight housings. Was just too much. They wised up in '08 and blacked some of that out. I really want to black out the bolt heads and everything eventually.
No performance mods. Doesn't need to be, lol. It has bigger rotors and prolly more HP than the Audi did when it was stock.
I may throw some slip-ons on it down the line. But really, I'm at the age where I'm transitioning to cruiser and this bike was a nice medium between crotch rocket and cruiser. I don't need it to be any faster.

Eyes are playing tricks... lol. Hasn't been fog since I joey'd them. Was a ton when stock. Good seal and some silica solved that problem.

What kind of wheels are those? You've got a sweet USP. The Silver takes it from a car to a "machine". If I didn't have a Brilliant Black, I'd definitely go for the Silver.

Good to see you've got it back, Lee. Your probably going to have somewhat of a twin around. I'm leaning towards a set of rs4 reps. Even though with the same wheels and same color, they will look nothing alike haha.

    Re: Post dog-hit fix pics.

Doesn't even need a PM to explain. The sides are stock, so they use stock tabs. In the cases where there are no tabs due to the mating of the USP lower to the non-USP upper, I fabricated them from Fuzor plastic stuff (the same stuff used to fuse the upper and lower and shave the seams) and by cutting off tabs from the old lower and Fuzoring them on to the new bumper.
For the upper middle grille, the inner surround is formed from Fuzor as well and took weeks to make, literally. The mesh on the center upper was cut to shape, and then little by little I'd just mold plastic and sand to shape using the hacked up stock grille with the fins cut out and the mesh used as replacement. Cut the rings and the backing they are on out and then molded them in, because I don't like badgeless grilles. Then, the outer surround was painted same silver as body (which is just the stock outter trim anyhow) was clipped on. Then the whole assembly snaps in place just like stock.
The lower center surround was the fun one. You aren't doing that without some creation of plastic where there previously was none. The grille itself is easy. Just cut and bend to shape and surround with door edge trim, and fill in the small openings between each mesh with silicone, then paint. As for the lower bumper center portion, I molded out all the little "cut-outs" of the USP lower and added strips of plastic cut from my old lower bumper so the whole thing mates right up to the FMIC straight across. Those cut-outs would be hidden by the stock grille, but would look odd with the mesh grille not covering them up. Then, up the sides behind the mesh, I created a small plastic wall using pieces cut off my old lower and then Fuzored on to the USP lower. This created a backing that the center grille is pushed up and velcro'd against. I then painted the lower center opening from the back of it out to 1/4" in front of where the lower grille sits, in the same color of the grille, to create a false trim surround.
Then, the center grill is pushed up behing the rebar, and then down and then pushed back in to place. And it's held with small pieces of velcro.
Voila, custom mesh grilles. All easily removed so the FMIC can be de-bugged and polished.
My intent on the whole lower center portion with all the plastic fabrication was to not let any air around the FMIC. So I built it up so that the opening goes right up to the FMIC on all sides but the top. All air entering that space has to go through the FMIC. The bonus was that it gave me something to but the mesh grille up to.
    Short story long.... sorry.
Funny thing is, when I go to even German car shows, most people have NO idea the amount of thought and work that went in to the most mundane of trim work. They always seem to think it's just bought at the store and tossed on. Wish I had pics of doing that whole front end and the joey mod step by step. That'd get some props at the shows.

Thanks Lee. I read this carefully and I will try it.
I totally understand how ignorant people can be about how much work we put into the car espeically the little things that require a lot of time.
