Zaino Z-16 and 1Z Vinyl/Rubber care, both give low shine finish and seals/protects them too.

    ^^^
    what he said.
Phil (detailersdomain) usually gets your order out same day.
i'm only one state over so i usually get it on my doorstep the next day.

if you absolutely must get it from a regular store, i used to have decent results with meguiars tire shine gel (purple gel in a clear squeeze bottle, apply with sponge) but i always had problems of spray off if i started driving before it was completely bone dry.
there were also rumors that they changed the formula and it now browns tires or something.

you can also try visiting some detailing places in your area to see if they retail any higher end stuff.

    but overall DD FTW

    Re: Tire Shine?

    Is optimum better than VRT?

VRT is great cause it doesn't splash, but last maybe 3-4 days.

    Re: Tire Shine?

I just tried a new gel from black magic, got it at autozone. It looks good going on 5 days now even driving by a cement plant.. Damn dust. I did let it dry dry for a few hours before driving, no sling.

    Re: Tire Shine?

i've never used the vrt so can't compare.
i know a lot of people love the vrt.
the only thing you should be careful of with the store bought stuff is the browning issue.
there's a certain chemical that causes the browning, can't remember the chemical off the top of my head.

    "Other Degradants
Petrochemicals and silicone oils can remove the protective waxes and increase the rate of degradation. Common automotive "protectants" and "tire dressings" are typically devoid of UV stabilizers of any type and contain petrochemicals and/or silicone oils which dissolve away the protective waxes and can actually aggress the sidewall. In the event of warranty sidewall failure, one of the first things tire manufacturers look for is evidence of the use of these types of products. When found, this is often cause for not warranting the sidewall failure."

so yeh, make sure whatever you use doesn't have any of those in the ingredient listing.

    Re: Tire Shine?

use an apc (all purpose cleaner) to clean up the tires and u will not get browning from any tire dressing that's the key, clean the tires and then dress it.

I like both Optimum and Adam's.

Use a foam applicator apply more for gloss or switch the the dry side of the foam applicator to matte it down for a flat finish.

    Re: Tire Shine?

no touch seriously wet, comes in an aerosol can, spray it on and let it dry for about 20-30 min. and your set.

The Tire Shine Gel works even better than the spray, the downside is you MUST use a foa applicatir, the plus side is most bottles come with them. You don't have to wait for it to dry, doesn't sling onto your wheels and if you accidentally spary it on your wheels it come right off. It gives a great wet look that I used to get from Black Magic which is also really good, but I got tired of making sure it was dry before I drove.

usually use black magic or Armor All
usually prefer the ones in the can easy coating and lasts
