Yes you'll need new bolts. Simply add 10mm length to your existing ones.

    OEM is ball.
At least thats what they were on my S.
My Champions also take ball seated.
    So it all depends.

    OEM Is Ball
28mm is OEM Bolt size so get some 38mm, and contact that place you got the wheels from and see what they can tell you!

it 'may' catch but you'll be short on thread if you use the oem locks. at least a recommended(Tirerack) minimum of 7.5 turns should be followed. i'd just get the correct size locking lug bolts.

If you want wheel locks but you are running spacers, get an external lock.

One of the places you can buy them at, is FogCity. Here is their thread: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3418453

Here they are on my old wheels. Sorry they're a little dirty

Re: help me out here please, do i need new wheel bolts

Our oem bolts are ball seat lug bolts.
Aftermarket oem wheels (like BBS) use ball seat lug bolts.
99% of other aftermarket wheels (replicas, Rial, IForged, OZ, etc) use conical seat lug bolts.
I've never seen a german automobile that required a flat seated lug bolt.

OP needs extended, conical seat lug bolts. 14x1.5x38mm to be exact.

oem bolts are 14x1.5x28mm, and he wants to use 10mm spacers. You can buy H&R 14x1.5x40mm (2mm longer won't matter) for $2.95/bolt HERE for example. Almost any vendor can sell you the lug bolts you need though.
    Ignorance is bliss.

hmm... spoke to a wheel specialist & they said 4 turns is safe?! doesn't sound it to me, so i'll have to get some longer ones i think.

That doesn't sound right... At least 6-8 full turns is safe. Then drive for 50 miles and re-torque again.
