I stubbled upon this awesome application that is very powerful as more and more users get on board...

In summary, it's a site that introduces the use of a realtime social community software loaded onto your mobile device that has an active GPS Service.
Live data streaming into your mobile device alerting you to speed traps in your current vicinity. It's more robust as more users plug-in new speedtraps on the fly. You as the user can actually enter quick info to alert your fellow subscribers. It's easy 'cause your GPS location becomes the point of reference.

Well anyways, I've got it currently active on my Blackberry/Verizon/8830 and still trying to fool w/it.

In a nutshell and in theory, it sounds awesome.

Eddie - I have the same phone as you and I've been trying to get Trapster installed all day! I install it fine, open it, log in, and then keeps giving me "Attempting...." then "LocThre.." at the ticker on the bottom and never connects. How did you install it on yours? Did you have to add the IP and Port info or not? Did you have this problem?

A similar idea was created a while back: http://www.speedtrap.org/

Though not a bad idea, it failed because it had a very small user base.

This Trapster idea is clearly more up-to-date and technologically advanced, so hopefully it attracts more users and develops into a thorough database of speed traps.

Good idea in theory, but ya, you need lots of people to make it work well. The issue with more people knowing about it will then be douches that post fake information for shit's n giggles. catch 22 in my opinion, but hopefully they can make it work.
