I wanted to clean passenger side of my engine bay becouse of my new 034 manifold. I wanted to cancel the check valve and the hoses which is marked with red as I am a standalone user.So my question is what did you do with yours ,did you just cancel the hose and valve and leave the gas tank breather pipe open or is there another thing that I can do ? Thanks.

I am wondering the same thing. Anyone know where the hard line on the left (driver's side) of the car that this thing connects to goes to?

it's evaporative emissions stuff.. I didn't find out where the hard line goes but since its emissions i'm assuming it goes to the tank as a breather. I ripped mine out the other day, it goes to the intake manifold and then t's off to the drivers side where i have no idea where that leads to either lol..

Anyway, I plugged the nipple on the IM and took the hard line out but left the sensor there and put a plug on that as well.

more info would be nice for sure.

034 just removed the hose and left the hard pipe open on my car.

quick question mike. does your car even come close to passing emissions, or what? im very curious because my car will need to pass. Im thinking since you live in cali that your car can pass, but its mostly a track car so im not sure.

ripping out emissions stuff just doesnt sound like it would help any...

I have never had to smog my car and at this point I wont need to since it is not registered for the street. When it was registered it was smog exempt so I wouldn't need to ever smog it in CA.

Re: Engine bay cleaning ,not like you guess :)

The lines can be removed. The hard lines that run under the car go to a pump and a canister. The canister is located below the fuel tank and the pump is behind the wheel well lining on the rear driver's side wheel well. I removed them both and didn't have any problems except DTCs were stored. To remove the hard lines you will have to cut them or disconnect your exhaust system and remove heat shielding to get them out in one piece (MAJOR PITA).

Also, a heads up that for those people who are NOT running stand alone, if you disconnect the EVAP pump thing that is part of the crap outlined in red in the picture above, the misfire detection system stops working as well. So, I recommend leaving that thing plugged in and just tuck it away somewhere.
