A5 or G37

So here is the thing. I drove the A5 and really like it. It feels almost as quick as an S4 but anyway. I priced out both cars and the audi is always 6k more. Im really not getting anything more in the audi vs the infiniti. Both have GPS and basically fully loaded. the thing is what Is a A5 running 0-60. and 1/4mile. I know you cant compare 265hp vs 330 but i was just wondering what the performace spec are. In a year or so do we see the V6 gaining more horsepower.

I do know that the G37 puts down awful 1/4 mile times because it is such a pig. Also, no AWD in he G37, although that may not be a problem for you.

I will take the A5 any day and enjoy the ride every morning going to work. It's a great car. Think of it this way: you get a higher ratio of quality/price if you buy the A5.

The a5 runs a 5.8 0-60 is what i have read but i can tell you its a great car I doubt you will regret either choice they are both nice.

G37 might be faster at the 1/4mile, but .. I don't like it as much as the A5. I am sure it's gonna be faster, cause it's a lot of hp more, but that's not all in a car.

If performance numbers (and by association bragging rights) are important to you, go with the G37. It's faster and it's cheaper.

The A5, on the other hand, is better at every subjective measure in my opinion. Of course, since that is subjective, you may or may not agree with me.

If you can afford not to have a G37 I would stick to your current car and just wait.....Who cares about performance when you got a cool name and looks. Do yourself a favor and get a cool car. Rare is cooler than fast. People buy all the time based on word of mouth, and Consumer Reports. Audi is the best kept secret.

Get the A5 it looks alot better, and you have quattro so its better for off the line while someone else is still spinning their wheels. Even if yu arent doing a run you wont get stuck in the winter time, you'll just own all those people that are spinning out and losing control in the snow. G37s are already so common the A5 will get you ALOT of looks lol. I would take the A5 hands down i dont even have to think if you asked me that question.

ill be honest with you man..you drive a B7 S4 now, to me the A5 is a downgrade, for sure. Sure, it's new and hot, but that's it. I would wait a bit and get the S5, you will be alot happier!
For me, it's either anothe S or RS model.

looks-wise, they are similar. I like the a5's front a lot better. I don't really like the curvature of the new G's front. I liked the old G better. It was more muscular looking, had a better stance imo. The new G looks just like an Altima coupe if you ask me. Both cars look good, I like the s5's styling a little more though(imagine that).

I also threw in a 335i coupe and its typical owner.

I prefer the looks of the A5 myself. If the A5 does 0-60 in 5.8 it is a fraction slower then the G37S. On Motorweek the G37S I saw ran 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. Much slower then the 335i it was compared to which BMW said runs 5.3 but pulled 4.8 to 60.
I think AWD would get up and go better then the G37S which I heard feels slow off the line, needs rev's to feel quick. The 135i will blow it AWAY.

Maybe it's just me, but putting them together like this makes the G37 look like a regular coupe and not a luxury coupe.

I can't disagree! The G37 looks a bit too cheap for the price you paid. I like the old design much much much better! Besides, 1-2 years down the road, when you look back at the car you're buying today, there is a huge difference between German car and Jap. car. Your G37 may look like it's breaking down while the A5 just look like its orginal shape when you picked it up.

The lease payment for the A5 ($52K, 48months) was $950 a month, the BMW ($52K, 36 months) was $700, and the G37 ($44K, 39 months) was around $550 a month. My wife likes the G37 the best, but the problem I have is that in two years when she is sick of it she wants something new the G37 and 335xi will not be worth anything, because one car is a jap while the other car is will have its new body style. I thing the A5 will hold its value better.

Talking about depreciation, for years, Audi has been the worst car maker. The main reason for that is because there is a limited amount of buyers. For me, if it wasn't because I live in the North East, I would never ever look at an Audi in the first place. Audi is trying to limit amount of production to help depreciation. Theoretically speaking, it works but people is very dynamic and the only thing you can do is seat back and wait.

It is a gorgeous car both inside and out..and all I have to say is (im a network engineer)...its a computer geeks dream car..

Yeah Im not getting rid of my S4. But I dont know what I want to do. I think Im just going to wait till the new A4 comes out. I want a car that has AWD and is Turboed. Im in the tuning and I missing turbo tuning. Thanks anyway guys.

P.S. They want to much money for an A/S5 a month. Its just to hot right now. got to give it time.

That's the first time I've really looked a pic of the G37, and it looks disgusting. It looks like the typical budget sedan turned coupe that the manufacturer claims is "sporty". I visualize chubby middle aged women that wanna feel like they finally "made it" driving that car.
