yes there certainly is rust on them...i bought these for my S4, later to find out that the model numbers are for an A4 2.8L no later than 2000, both springs (the springs are RACE springs) AND shocks. i spoke with bilstein, and they specifically told me not to put them on my car. as far as the 9,000 miles, it looks more like 90,000 with the rust on both springs and shocks. i requested a refund, which im thankful that gavin gave me that, but these should not be on an s4. yes, they do FIT an s4, but i bet i can cut a block of wood that does too. i still have the shocks, awaiting payment to ship back to the buyer. Gavin, man, there is NO WAY these only have 9,000 miles on them. Honestly, my stock shocks and springs are in better shape after 100k miles, and i live in minnesota!! learned my lesson to jump on deals before requesting exact part numbers. I do not mean to be a prick about anything, but this was just a terrible experience all around, and i dont feel that gavin is a bad seller as he did give me a refund in full. I just feel that seller had no idea what he was selling, and just guessed.

there WAS rust on these when i received them. there are still in the original box you shipped them in!! i didnt even take them out, i just read the part numbers, which are... shocks: f4-b36-2081-m0 (its either an o or a 0). Springs: 55.02.25

youre saying that as if youre a juror... i received shocks, they were the wrong shocks as described as above in this thread. i called the manufacturer to see if i can use these, they told me no. believe me, i would love to have a suspension on my car for 425 bucks... but its just the wrong one. anyone else would request a refund, and not expect to pay for shipping for the wrong product, if you disagree with this, that is fine, as in reality this was a two-way transaction. i did not ship the items out until i was refunded in full (i paid before he shipped the items out, so seller pays before i ship the items back). the refund took days to complete; this is not my fault, or gavins, but paypals. i have been as straight forward as possible, and letting people know of my experience with this seller, so nobody (gavin included) would have to deal with a mess like this again.

i appreciate it, but they wont do me any good, they are for the heavy 2.8/2.7 liter v6's, i only have the 1.8t .... im just into finding out what is really going on, and i think we all know what that answer is :p
