    Highest level of Performance thats CARB legal

    Hello i am looking into purchasing a b5 s4 and i was wondering if anyone knows what level of performance you can achieve while staying completely Carb legal. I know neuspeed makes a chip that is carb legal, anyone know anything else performance wise that is carb legal.

    they wont be able to see s*** since the turbos are below the engine. As long as you pass smog, your carb legal for all they know. The only thing we really have to worry about is visual inspection. f you have an open element intake, crazy GT manifolds, relocated turbos, or gutted downpipes, then they would know. Theres a lot of Stg 3+ guys down here in socal who do just fine.

    just put heatshields over your manifolds/turbos if you have them upgraded, they'll never know. we have pretty sneaky cars when it comes to modifications.

    i know you can work around carb legality with hiding the mods or finding a technician who isn't as strict on the stickers, and while i know it is very easy to make the mods non noticeable i was wondering first what level is absolutely legal

    idk since we dont have emissions in my town, but call up APR, GIAC, REVO, etc.. and ask if their chips/exhausts are carb legal

    Nope, the ECU chips are not CARB legal.
    There is no EO number associated with any of the chip, thus strictly speaking is not CARB approved.

    The neuspeed chip is the only carb legal mod. It takes too much time and money to make stuff carb legal. Especially for suck a low volume car.

    CARB legal, what, we got a tree hugger on our hands here. If you pass emissions, your fine. just don't run straight pipes all the way back from the exhaust manifold....
