Crashed and burned B5

One of my friend's neighbors had a very clean dark blue b5 and yesterday afternoon i went to my buddies house to see that she had rear ended someone at at least 40 miles per hour. airbgs deployedad from my opinion the car was totaled. Around 2 am last night I get a call from my buddy telling me that the car exploded in the driveway(i will get some pics up later). I go over there today to check it out and it is trashed but the rims are alright. I am not sure which rims the are but they are 18 inches and they had audi centercps. is it uncalled for to leave a not with my number asking for the rims? should i offer money? If so how much should i offer?

first and foremost, i would go and talk to the woman and make sure she is ok. say that u seen the car and that ur an audi enthusiast, and most importantly, b.c shes a girl, make sure to ask about her condition. then i would ask about the rims. You never know, but i hear stories of women practically giving away cars/tools/guy stuff after a bad incident. Maybe u could get them for free? once u get the ok, before u take the front two, try to get them balanced to see if they are damaged, which they could be if she hit who ever hard enough. Otherwise see wat else u can take off the car, b4 the adjuster or the car is taken away. good luck man.

Insurance is going to take the car as is. I doubt that she will buy it back.

Dude seriously, I would knock on the door. Say I noticed the charred A4 outside and offer to buy it off them and get it off their lawn. Tow it home, take wheels. Sell metal to scrap people.

There is a possibility, the rims could be distorted from the heat.

Doesn't require a lot of heat to damage light aluminium wheels...

By the remains it looks to me as if the fires starting point was inside the cabin. I am no expert but thats how it appears to me.

Most definetally true. I knew a kid that went to my school. His parents bought him a brand new one of those 2door 1.8 supercharged mercedes. Kid drove it for about 6mo with no liscense and smaked the fuck out of a curb thinking he was the drift king... So he decided he was going to set it on fire, say someone stole it and burned it. It didnt turn out too well when he burned the fuck out of himself setting the thing on fire.

Damn, my friend did something similiar to someone who crashed into him and was a cop and tried lyin his way out of fault and thus it took almost 6 months to get any money,but he at least waited over a year to let shit cool down. The study possibilities says that the possibility of anything happening is 1. If you put some nails and some wood in a bag and shake the bag, you might build a house...........hence it is possible that some thing sparked and caused a fire but most likely NOT!!!!

Those are 17" Celebration wheels, basically smaller RS4 wheels that came on the 2001.5 Sport package.
Plus, youd have to put your wheels on there

Um those are 18" rs4 reps. The car shown with the wheels you are talking about is his car. The car that caught fire was a santroin blue, not black.

At my local junk yard there are a few jetta 1.8t that caught on fire. Does look like its very possible the accident might of caused it.

I agree, those are 17 Celebration rims, looks just like my car except burnt. Does seem a little fishy that it goes up in flames a day later.
