    Question Throttle Body and more

What are the benifits to upgrading the 1.8 throttle body to a 2.7 or VR6? Better throttle response? More air? If you do upgrade it can an aftermarket fmic (racetec) still fit it? Also will it mess with the ecu (giac j31)? Just curious.

    Re: Throttle Body

Not going to see all that much of a gain in power doing it with a K04 which just isn't out flowing the stock 1.8 throttle body.

Depends if the vehicle is DBC or DBW mike.
On the DBC cars there will be a significant gain as the throttle plate on the AEB throttle body is approx 52mm....whereas on the DBW it is 60mm.
The S4 throttle body is DBW is only 65mm and the only other upgrades above this are 75mm and 80mm.

If you have a DBC car go for it.

If you have a DBW car upgrade your turbocharger first.

    J31 = 2000 = DBW.

    Re: Throttle Body

    Thanks to both of you.
So what are some other ways to get more hp out of a ko4?
    So far I have..
    Atp exhaust manifold
    K04
    Giac j31
    Injectors
    Ebc
    Afpr
    Carbonio
    Forge 007
and some other unimportant goodies such as HKS TT, etc...

I still need my fmic before I install all this.
I know I would benefit from an exhaust and a hfc which I am planing on getting this summer (borla and labree) but what else is there?
I heard water/meth but is it really worth it on a K04?
Also what about port/polishing the exhaust manifold?

    Re: Throttle Body and more

is anyone aware of a larger bore throttle body that is a direct replacement for the AEB?
