A line of dead pixels on my DIS

Hi guys,
I seem to have a problem with my DIS - I have a black line of 'dead' pixels on it.
(see pictures attached - sorry for the horrible quality - phone camera...)

It seems pretty obvious to me that these pixel are not actually dead.
I mean what are the chances that a straight line of pixel will die together like that...
I would guess this might be some sort of an internal wiring problem - right?

Is this a known AUDI disease?
Does this phenomena tend to get worse?
Does anyone know if my DIS could be fixed?
According to eBahn repairs manual, for any malfunction in the instrument cluster, the ENTIRE cluster should be replaced - is this the case here?

thats always there. it divides the regular display with the warning displays like low washer fluid and such above.

So you also have a line this THICK?

I'm looking at a picture of an A3 DIS from an AUDI catalog I have.
I see a very THIN line in the same location. So thin it is barley noticable...

I'm pretty sure. It doesn't look like you have any pixel issues or dead lines, thankfully. You'll know when your screen is going out. You won't even be able to read it at times.
